A ROOSTER LAYS EGG IN ITALY is it possible !?

Newspaper- DAINIK JAGRAN hindi daily in India jamshedpur edition 21/4/2010 pg14; "ROOSTER(MURGA) lays egg" I was amazed and started reading the article. it went this way Rome-Italy-Tuscany a ROOSTER an egg out of fear in a farm. as per the owner there was a ROOSTER and few hens in the poultry when a fox attacked and killed all the hens somehow the ROOSTER escaped the attack but was traumatized a few days later he said the ROOSTER named Ziyani started to lay egg and also hatches it. The act has become the topic of discussions in the area I looked for the article on net, searched through Google but there was not such article found so i am a bit confused and i am thinking to contact the newspaper editor for the facts. but the thing is is it possible, though there are lots of sayings every where in the world for a ROOSTER'S egg but this is something I've heard for the 1st time in my life. but u cant say things change. what say?????????

This seems a bit bizarre to me. Unless the farmer has actual proof of the rooster laying the egg, I would venture a guess that the rooster simply sat on a nest of eggs that one of the hens had laid prior to the attack. I do know cases in which the male bird will set the nest and hatch the eggs. I would certainly need to see more proof before I would believe that he laid the eggs.

ye, but that article was in the news and hope news people don't just put it without proper investigstions
