Human cloning the end of the human race or the beginning of a new one?

This is an offshoot of the stem cell research issue. You may remember the sheep named Dolly that was cloned years ago. What most people don't know is that Dolly's "mother" was a genetically enhanced with human DNA. So in a way it was a partial human clone. There was also a religious/sci-fi cult that claims to have cloned a human being a few years back. Some people fear that this will spur a resurgence of the eugenics movement and that parent will eventually want their kids genetically altered for the best traits (similar to the movie Gattaca). The dangers in this is that with the hand full of knowledge scientist have they are ready to alter human destiny without thinking of the long term effects of what might happen in eliminating some of these so called useless genes that might actually have a purpose. Also there is the question of ethics in all this. What is the limit of how far one can go since Dolly had human gene what if you wanted you kids to have genes of a lion would they still be considered human by appearance alone? If this gene mixture happens would they be considered pets instead of humans? Or would they be allowed to breed with other humans spreading their genes into the human gene pool. It does take much foresight to see that some doors should be left closed and that things like these experiments shouldn't be allowed to happen but of course there is always the possibility that their are rouge scientist out there that have already opened the lid on Pandora's box. Whats your opinion?

It scares me, if you want the truth. I'm reading "Seeds of Deception" right now and learned that they cannot even predict the outcome of genetically modifying plants; how are they going to predict what happens when they start mixing DNA in animals and people? It's all the same thing. I am beginning to think that nearly all scientists are mad scientists. They sure don't have any common sense.
Have you ever wondered where the myths of half human, half animal beings came from? I keep wondering about that.

I wrote a topic some time back and that was a point I made about Noah being perfect in his day maybe he was genetically perfect and un-tampered with and that's why the flood was necessary to remove all the genetically altered beings.

I am not worried! We are Spirit first, and Physical second. It makes not the slightest difference what form our human Physical takes, we are God's Children first!
Remember the Centaurs (from Ancient Greek: ???ta???? - Kéntauroi) are a race of creatures composed of part human and part horse. This DNA manipulation is ancient history, and it wasn't the end of the human race, nor was it the beginning of a new one. DNA has nothing to do with Spirit! Lets get down off our High Horse and stop worrying!

But can a human spirit still survive in the body of a half human half beast would be the question. So you believe the ancient legends based on facts too than, and that they are based on previous gene manipulation?

Why wouldn't parents want their kids to have the best traits? Why wouldn't they want their kids to be more intelligent? What parents want their kids to fail at life?

Do you know how many famous/great people would have never been born if they would have been eliminated out of the gene pool do to undesirable traits? We wouldn't have had Lincoln, JFK, Einstein, Van Gogh all of these people have had traits that would have been eliminated out of the gene pool if what you are talking about was put into action. Failing and success doesn't come from genes it comes from the human spirit. Eugenics/Gene manipulation is not only a bad idea but down right ignorant.
