Today I recieved a mail from HelloHello.net saying that the developer of the site had gone through 2 passings in his life which has put him in a critical situation. He has given a link in the mail asking for donations to meet the unexpected needs. How far can the mail be true? Do you send donations based on these types of mails?

No sweetie, that is one thing i will not do. Rather stand before me and ask, but to have a site where you ask for donations. I don't think so. You will never really know if that is true or not. TATA.

you are right. How can we donate to someone whom we have never seen. I will certainly not do too. This has become a fashion now. We never know if this reason is true or not. Even it was true, I don't think it is necessary to give some money to an unknown person. I have recieved many mails like this..But I never encourage it.

How could I be able to send donations when I only earn cents here. But they are no difference from the street beggars. I don't donate to net beggars. For all you know they are drawing in a lot of money from people who are easily influenced by them.

yes, this is absolutely a great way of collecting people's money. I'm sure the site developer is not that poor that he is unable to meet out his unexpected expenses. Practically speaking, even I cannot say that I do not have sufficient money. It is my duty and I will meet them out. But this person is brilliant enough to collect the public money. I agree with your words. They are also doing a sort of begging. And people who are loyal to the site and those who are easily convinced by these words will surely fall into this trap..

honest opinion is - why do you send donation? if you are convinced and know it is genuine then better to proceed otherwise give your donations directly and see that that donation has been rightly applied as per your intentions

you are right. It is always good to give donations to people who really need it. I'm never convinced by these mails. I don't think the site developer would be that poor that he is not able to meet these unexpected needs. I donate to people those who are really in need of money and those that I have seen personally not to anyone online.

Yes, it depends on my wish only. I'm not going to send any money to him. I don't feel he would be really in need of money..I cannot believe that the site developer is so poor that he cannot meet his unexpected needs. I just wanted to know about the opinions of other mylotters..What do you feel? Will you be convinced by these types of mails and do you donate to people who ask like this online?
