Facebook versus Defacebook

Having seen the effects of bullying on someone who was using a social networking site, I am curious to know whether or not you believe that Facebook is a convenience for people who wish to negatively target others. Do you feel that people are more likely to be subjected to bullying if the perpetrator can hide behind an avatar, a false pic or profile, or simply because they don't believe that it can be deemed 'serious' when undertaken via the World Wide Web? Or do you feel that someone is less likely to be bullied than they would be at school, for instance?
