Hamburg striker Van Nistelrooy tips Bobby Zamora to break into the England squad this World Cup. Do you think this will happen? Do you think his quality will make it to England, now that Fulham is gunning for a Europa League final spot?
Are there any other better substitute striker for England?

Well,
Not for me. Unless there are extravagant condition (Rooney and Defoe injured), then Zamora is very unlikely for England Team. His only advantage is his physical appearance. He is not really a clever striker. However, if England have Beckham back, then Zamora should be considered as his physical appearance should benefit more from cross-play.
England likely will adept more with lone striker or maybe two. Rooney clearly the first choice with his superb display this season though he is aggravated by injury now.

Bobby Zamora has his best year at EPL this season. He has been a revelation under Roy Hodgson and has been one of main reasons for Fulham's great season. Having said that I do not think he is good enough to make the England squad. I would rather have Rooney, Defoe, Crouch and Darren Bent ahead of him. Only after this lot, I would consider Zamora for the English team.
Cheers!

Thats a very interesting one. I rather hoped with the appointment of Capello and moreso the deputy Pearce, would halt the age-old selection of players based on the team they play for or the form they once had.
We should be picking the players who have performed the best during the season.
Zamora has been in the form of his life and not just against premier teams, but against some of the best in Europe.
I'm also surprised that we're talking about which player should get that last striker's spot as aside from Rooney there are really no guaranteed choices based on form for club or country.
By comparison Crouch has been average for club and country, Heskey is still awful, Defoe has more bad games for england than good, Bent has had a great season so should be considered, Carlton Cole has had a solid season and links well with Rooney.
Ideally you want the big man for hold-up and the nippy striker to score.
Bent, Rooney, Defoe, Crouch are all nippy but with little holding power compared to Cole and Zamora who are bigger, stronger, yet still have the pace and finishing to score themselves. Heskey at some point in his career has been the latter, but for the past few seasons he's lacked the pace or conviction to perform. Even Villa see him as bench/backup and it would be a travesty to take a player who cant even get into his club side's lineup.

Fulham played some awesome football through out the season and all credits goes to only one person, Bobby Zamora. Bobby Zamora played some amazing football in EPL and also in Europa Cup. I think that at this moment Bobby Zamora if get a chance in the England WC 2010 squad then it will nothing surprise. If Fulham will reach the final then Bobby Zamora will get extra advantage to secure his place in England WC 2010 squad because that time the whole world will watch him and also his football.
Hope! Van Nistelrooy tips become true and Bobby Zamora will play for England in WC 2010.
