So, I thought that my daughter was big when she was born. She weighed in at 9 lbs 12.5 oz. Completely natural with no pain relief. However I just read that in 2005 a lady from Brazil gave birth to a baby weighing in at 16.7lbs!!!!!!!!! Oh the pain!
How could that be?? Surely she didn't give birth naturally! My baby looked twice the size of all the other babies at the hospital so her's must have looked like a year old!
My question is how heavy was your baby when it was born??????

My baby was born 1400 grams. And looked twice smaller than the other babies. Here the big babies comes with Cesarian except the mother wants to give birth naturally.

Yeah, after my baba was born they said I should have had a c-section. All of the midwifes were shocked when they realized how much she weighed .Noone knew because of the way she was positioned, my bump wasn't even that big. She was so big she actually got stuck because her shoulders were too wide and it was all a bit shock horror with emergency doctors and so being called. My doctor said if I have anymore children I would have to have special growth ultrasounds to check the babies weight because the second child is usually bigger. I would also probably have to have a c-section next time. Your little one was ALOT smaller than mine!!

My daughter seemed big to me and people couldn't believe that she was a newborn as she already looked 3 months old! I thought I was going to have a tiny baby because my bump didn't seem that big!
Could you imagine if my second child was like your children and increased by 3lbs! That would mean my next baby would be nearly 13lbs!!!!!! Oh God help me!!!

I've had two babies. My daughter was born at 36 weeks 6 days and she weighed in at 6lbs 15oz when she was born. To be completely honest, I was scared of her when she was born because she was smaller than any baby I'd ever held in my entire life. Then, when my son was born at exactly 40 weeks, he weighed in at 8lbs 7oz, a full pound and a half bigger than his sister had been. He looked huge to me after having had Kathryn.
However, both of my children were very small compared to my family history. When I was born I was 9lbs 9.5oz and was the smallest of my mother's three children. My mother weighed nearly 13lbs when she was born.

Wow! That was a very heavy baby the lady in Brazil had!
I have had three home births.
My first son I thought was heavy. He was 9lb 4oz and he had the head size of a 6 week old baby. I had a water pool for my labor with him. Sadly I had a retained placenta and had to get a manual removal of it.
My second son wasn't quite that heavy. He was 7lb 11oz. He has got spina bifida and hydrocephalus. I had a quick and easy birth with him and no problems with the placenta.
My daughter was 8lb exactly. I lost 2 and a half liters of blood after her birth.
In my first labor I used water plus gas and air to control the pain. With my second and third labors I didn't have any pain relief.

how big was the mother ? still it is no excuse to give birth to a baby as big as that. mine was 6.6, i think. surely, the baby already has something wrong in his hormones. it is not natural to give birth to a baby as big as that with the baby being normal. i think the mother was quite irresponsible not to have check-ups when she was pregnant and money would be no issue here for government agencies offer free prenatal check-ups. a little irresponsibility like this can be a lifetime of misery for the baby. not being aware that prenatal check-ups is a must would be intolerable. doesn't she have friends, neighbors or relatives who know better?
