what kind of laptop i should have....

i have no idea on different laptops....
all i know is it can help me work easier...i can surf and play with it....
but how can i have a laptop....
i dont know things about laptop...
especially when it comes to software and hardware of laptops...
dont know what kind of laptop i should buy....
the thing is there are so many variants to choose from....
so many brands....
so many latest models....
and most specially the prizes are different...
some are expensives....
some are cheap....
it is the prize that i need to base the unit or the features....
pls help me....

iane, it depends on your needs. Example: I love to travel and I do business using the computer, I make sure that is is very lightweight and small. I do have an HP Mini 2133 notebook before though performance wise its not good but because it is small and I get to use it everywhere then its okay for me. :)

It's easy. Just take a MacBook. Apple (the Brand) has got only 3 different laptop models and they are all cool 
MacBook is the best for "newbies" because it has enough power for most people and it's design in okay too.
MacBook Air is the best for people who are on the run all the time, because it is so light and "small". It doesn't have so much power though, but still enough for most.
MacBook Pro is the best for "pros". It is like a MacBook, but is a bit more powerful. This is the one that I would get, but it is your choice.
You could take any of those, but the Windows can be okay too. Windows has more viruses though.
