Suspicious activity what?

So I have not gotten into the habit of using the myLot search. I keep forgetting and going over to Google. Today I said to myself, self, try and use myLot search instead. So today, every time I wanted to do a search, I used the myLot search. After maybe 10 - 20 searches, a message pops up that "we have noticed some suspicious activity on this account - please try your search later". Hmmmm..... Anybody else run into this one before? I thought we were being encouraged to use it...

I have not even heard of the mylot search. I will use it if we get some money for it. I am using inbox search tool for now. I get paid on that account. I guess I didn't install it when I was asked. Maybe it was something you searched for, or a site you went to that had potentially dangerous spy ware.. that's what it sounds like. But I would contact mylot!

Used to they suspended people for posting too many pictures. It is automated. I think that says a lot about the state of our world and how everyone wants to get a free bonus, so then the innocent, like you, Dawnald, get a label.

Apparently I should have titled this discussion "welcome smart alecks"?

But a purple mask would NOT be a disguise. We'd know it was you!
Can't sit for long but improving. My pelvic bones separated again - and this time I wasn't pushing a wheelchair up and down steep hills.

Hey... I have had this experience a couple of times.. I was really puzzled, as I hadn't done anything suspicious. First I thought, it was some software problem... But it happened the second time, I stopped using the search engine here... I don't want to get banned... LOL... I feared that I would get banned, if this suspicious activity tag kept coming up...
Why does this happen?

That was more or less my guess as well, Dawnald. It doesn't do to try to second-guess the software in order to defraud it but if you occasionally fall foul of it in the course of normal searches, I think there is nothing to worry about.

Okay Dawnald... I think your reasoning is pretty correct, as I had a feeling that this might be the reason. I think we should ask Alice about it.. .Because once this 'Suspicious activity' message appears, one can't search for anything for next 24 hours... I suppose there should be some way out of it, and Alice might work upon it... What do you think?

This search thing has always made me wonder. Gives so and so result. Never tried to reward me and now...
I think I'll try it till I max out. Hopefully they bar only searching for me. Can't do without other things

It only prevented me from searching for a few hours and then I was able to do it again.

Well, after 20 searches in one day, it probably thought you were just searching to try to get rewarded...

Ha, watch me abuse it.
You are a horrible search engine and I hate you because you're crummy and you never give me the results I'm looking for. So there!

I use the MyLot search but I don't get web results for some reason, so I just use it to search for interesting discussions.
When I first started to use it I used it a lot, so after a while I did get that message.
I have now cut down on using it so much and just use it when I think of something I feel like talking about.
There is probably some sort of cap on using it and when you reach it it blocks you, but this cap is only for like for a day as the next day I could use it again just like normal.
I'm not sure if you are really flagged as being suspicious though, it might just be a deterrent.

I'm sure there's a limit, but you're not blocked daily. I was able to get back on later in the day. But yeah, the web search results are not the best, although I DO get results...

Maybe, you're not the only person who has said they get no web results at all...

Oh I didn't know that it was less, I didn't really stick around though because I only look back on MyLot every few hours (sometimes I don't even come on-line lol).
As for the web results, I NEVER get results, and I have used it quite a bit. Maybe it doesn't work for certain country's, but I'm not sure.

we are supposed to use it but it also states we are not to abuse the feature as we are paid for using the searchbar so i expect that the amount you can use it is limited to not let it be abused?

yeah, but of course we don't know at what point it 's considered abusive until we've already gotten the message

It's already working again and I just won't do so many searches so close together any more.

Oh yeah, I'm sure that's what it was. I just find it funny that they encourage you to use it, but don't tell you there are limits on it...

Yes, I have also encountered this sometimes.. I use the search engine to lok for certain discussions, and then this message pops up. So I have to wait for a few hours to use it again.

seems like there's a little bot that doesn't like it when you use it too often...

I do not understand why you got that message instead of a message that notifies you of an award. Maybe the Mylot search has got buggy? I have not used it in a few days, but usually when I do I get a reward every few days or so. Thus far I have not received a suspicious activity message (and hope not to).
I hope this gets straightened out for you soon. That is too bad you did not get a reward for using the search engine the first time!
I always do.

I was doing a lot of random searches too quickly, I think.
