When is the last time you wrote a poem?

I've been writing and composing songs since I was about 14 years old. I don't know if you can call that poetry, but I suppose in a way, you "could" classify that it is? Leonard Cohen was, and still is, one of my favorite poets of all time. Now if I could just write ONE like him.....? cdrxo

I write little pieces of poems all the time or sometimes I just keep them stored in my memory until I've found more to add to or to wait until I feel like the time is right to start writing it. I write lyrics to songs mainly but without music to the lyrics it is basically a poem, so I have a pretty good amount of poems that I've wrote.

I love writing poems, but honestly, it's been a long time since I've done it consistently. I am into childrens writing - so I serious enjoy creating silly poems. These days I just collect childrens poetry books and read up on them . . . and someday I hope to go back to writing them again. Then again, I have had the pleasure of writing a haiku or two thanks to dawnald's haiku discussions on myLot!

Hi. wow..u must be a good writer. I wrote poem about 10 years ago. Such a long time. Well...i don't like to write especially poem.

The last time I wrote down a poem was a couple months ago, I just posted it here on the forums for reviews in fact. On the other hand I tend to come up with poetry in my head all the time. I'll try to get them jotted down and posted here onto ML in the future. If nothing else at least I'll get some feeback.

Most of the time I write poetry daily, if not, I'm writing prose, or a combination thereof. My last poetry and prose combo was posted on my Gather.com site on the 16th, written in response to a writing prompt. I cannot imagine going more than a week or so without writing a poem, as the words are always dancing in rhyme-time in my mind.
