new computer?

I'm thinking that I would really like to try to upgrade and get a new laptop or a desktop. I think the macs are really neat but they are so expensive. Most of what I use my laptop for is schoolwork, social networking(facebook), checking email, etc. I haven't been playing games much lately. I noticed that Apple has an education discount but my funds are way tight right now so I'm not entirely sure what I think about it. Do you have experience with a Mac and if so, how easy was it to learn how to use? One of my biggest concerns would be switching over because I feel like they are so much different from PC's. What are your thoughts?

If you want to get a new computer or a new laptop, why not try buying a mac? As the last post says, macs are so easy to use and fun to learn. Some features of the mac are Docks, applications which has everything in one file, Safari (which I use to do simple things), Finder, System preferences, and much more. Contact Apple's website or go to the apple store near you if you have any questions. The apple store also has everything from the Macbook Pro to the Mac Pro (which is the most powerful computer yet). I recommend the computer that is right for you. For instance, if you want the iMac, which has everything from speakers to a microphone to a built-in iSight.
So, would you rather get a big and bulky PC that doesn't get you what you want, or would you rather get a mac, preferably the iMac? It's your call, your decision.

Thanks for your response. You're pretty helpful. I'm just starting to think about getting a new computer now. I don't have very much money but its something that is on my mind. I'm trying to do some research and get opinions about it so that I will know more about it when it does come time for me to buy a new computer. Do you use a Mac?

Yeah, that's what happened to me too
My father had always used Macs, and he gave me his old MacBook which I am still using right now
I have never seriously though of getting a PC even if I haven't really used one, because I know the pain that it can give

As a matter of fact, I do use a mac. I have an 20-inch iMac, with everything in it. I go to the apple store at times, practically going 2 times a month. Last time I went to the apple store was yesterday, with my mom. Anyways, I've had the iMac (this is my first mac computer) since November 2008, so I'm pretty sure that once you buy a mac, I'm guaranteed that you will never go back to a PC again.

Don't listen to the other one. Macs are so easy to learn to use, and you can install both Linux and Windows on it
There are hundreds of videos on Apple's website about all the "Mac tricks and tips". I can guarantee you that you will feel soo much better with a Mac after you have used it for max a week "actively"
Macs are just so "clean", good looking, powerful and the best
