Are you Picky about the blend or brand of your COFFEE?

This is a personal question, I know. Are you someone who shops and may buy the occasional gourmet blend that is on sale, but then stick to Chock-Full-O' Nuts Brand when you can't afford the others? I tend to be such a person. Don't get me wrong, I DO love coffee. But I think my all-time favorite everyday coffee is Chock-Full-O-nuts! It actually doesn't have any "Nuts" in it. But it is a popular NY brand that has been around since the 20's. It IS the "Heaven;y coffee."
I do Like 8-0'clock Bean as well. If Starbucks is on sale, I will buy that. But, really, I could survive on Chock-Full-O Nuts quite well.
Question: What is your all around bargain basement favorite? Or, are you a coffee snob or slu+? Someone who will do ANYTHING for gourmet coffee? Please DO tell!

Eh I've been sticking with the same Folgers classic roast for a while now. My taste buds seem to hate anything else other than that and Maxwell house. I used to occasionally drink some Venezuelan coffee but only after ordering it from over there because the stuff that calls itself Venezuelan over here is so god awful disgusting.

Do you guys have a preference on how you make coffee? I used to make cappucino, sometimes would do just espresso shots but I've been stuck on french press made coffee for the last few years. Also, how do you grind your beans? Or do you buy the coffee already ground?

Used to have a 12 oz Bodum but that wasn't quite enough of a cup for me so picked up the 32 oz :) I don't make that much at a time, usually 16oz will do me just fine but occassionally I have someone over that drinks coffee & it's perfect for 2 cups. I also use a Zaussenhaus manual grinder. It's a bit of work but I love the old school stuff & it's not noisy at all. That is weird about the blood fat content. I know I always have a bit of the 'sludge' left over in the cup, that's the issue with french press but I don't mind it. Beans are oily, especially if you over-roast. Maybe that's what contributes to increase fat in the blood.

I had the best coffee in the world when I was drinking Que Buen Cafe! Unfortunately they stopped making it a few years ago. Then I really like Medaglia D'Oro, and Italian espresso, but stores quit carrying it, too. Now I drink mediocre Cafe Bustelo, a Mexican espresso, which is rather tasty but nothing like the other two.
This morning I'm trying a pot of Ethiopian coffee and I'm disappointed. I'm not a coffee snob but I can't stand the swill that fills the supermarket shelves! I want a strong and flavorful coffee that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I'd like to try Jamaican Blue Mountain but it's very expensive and most of it is a blend with just a little of the good stuff in it. I think I'll try Costa Rican next.

O Costa RIca has the best climate and soil for coffee production. I really like Terrazu from Costa Rica. That is one of my favorite Primo brands.

I've heard good things about Terrazu. Is there a particular store you buy it from?
I'm going to have to go to the "big city" about 40 miles away and look for some stores that sell decent coffee.

I prefer Folger's Black Silk, but if necessary will get Maxwell House if my choice is not on sale. Some time ago I tried Chock full of Nuts and hated the taste. Starbucks is OK but too strong for me. Folgers is smoother to me and the Black Silk seems to have less acid, so I really will try to find that on sale before switching brands.

Black Silk Huh? I like low acid cofees. Maybe I will try that one. After all, you know what they say, "Once you go BLACK, you don't go back!"

I would not describe myself as a coffee 'snob' but I do prefer fresh coffee over stale...which constitutes most of what I find out in the stores. I purchased a home coffee roaster about 2 years ago & began purchasing green beans in bulk. I'm telling you, if you can ever tolerate the work (it is a bit involved), coffee aroma lingering in your house for an hour or so & online ordering, you will LOVE the rewards!!!

The coffee is not my main drink. I occasionally drink it and I won't drink it so often, because I am afraid I will be sleepless at night. Therefore, I don't know much about coffee and I am not picky to the coffee. Usually a cup of instant coffee will be good enough for me:)
I love China

I don't drink coffee anymore.
Coffee has been triggering my migraine, so I stopped drinking them.
Have a good day.

i love coffee a lot and it starts my day, everyday. but i am not choosy with the brand or its blend. what we have in the house is instant coffee that we only need a hot water and sugar. if there is a cream, then it will be great. Neil

For the most part I buy Folger's Classic Roast. I also like that brand of gourmet roast. I rarely buy Starbuck's brand even if it's on sale. I will buy the gourmet coffees (like at Walmart) in the small packages. I have found that they are usually a little on the strong side by themselves, but I add a little to my regular coffee when I brew it, and it gives it just enough of the flavor. I also buy the flavored creamers. I love the new Skinny Carmel Macchito.
