Do you Lick your fingers after Eating......??

Really I won't lick my fingers after eating food..Even when I'm alone I won't do it...Really I don't like that..But when the food is very very tasty then I will do it..But most often I won't do it..I won't find it as wrong but I don't like it...

If it's finger food, like buffalo wings, then I'll lick the sauce off. But if I'm eating with a fork, and I'm in public, I probably wouldn't lick my fingers. And I definitely try to avoid it in a fancy restaurant. If I'm at home snacking, I don't care!

First of all let me say that most Indians eat by hand and I find that very very comforting…I somehow feel that touching the food enhances its taste LOL…of course this is only at home. While dining out or at parties, fork and spoon is a must…licking the fingers is also restricted to home food and home dining table! Though I don’t lick my fingers that often, I do lick the plate clean (yes, don’t laugh)…when the food is so yummy that I just cant have enough of it, I lick the plate clean

I do not do that in public because it looks very ugly to me and unpleasant to others. I think this is about courtesy. Moreover most of the time I use chopsticks or spoon for my meals, so practically I have nothing on my fingers to lick! But of course when it comes to eating pizza one has to use his/her hands, but strangely I do not lick my fingers in public after eating a piece of delicious pizza. Instead I will take a napkin and clean my fingers! However if I am having pizza at home then it's a different story. There's no rules in the family to say we can't lick our fingers at home, of course the fingers must not touch anything else dirty other than the food. This I think helps to bond the family members together and share our joy.

yay well its not a good manners but you know when i am at home and alone and food is tasty i dont mind it. Some people think its a sign of appreciation.Means food was great and you dont want to waste food lest on finger also.But it does look good in office or in restaurant to do that.Thats a bad manner.

I lick my hands, always whenever I touched a food with my hands. I prefer to eat using my hands, aside from being more delicious that you would really taste and savor the food, less utensils to dish wash. :)

hi arunmails I think we just have a cultural difference as in the US we use forks, spoons and knives and do not very often eat with our bare fingers. so I would not want to lick my fingers as to me that sounds so gross and unclean. I do not mean to be smart alecky,its just a difference in our customs,not right or wrong, just different. I do sometimes eat something like a sandwich with my fingers or corn on the cobb or pieces of chicken but mostly I use my fork spoon and knife to eat with.,No if my hands are sticky or gooey I will wash up after eating.

Hi, arunmails. I will do this just to get the excess of food off of my fingers if I don't have a napkin nearby. Hopefully, I will have one. My fingers will just have to stay sticky until I find a napkin to use.

No. I'll wash them in the sink or use a wet napkin. Not that I find it rude because it can be done in a polite way but the simple innocent act has been turned into some alternate meaning for perverts. *Woman licking hot sauce off pinky finger* Man: "Oh yeah that means she wants me"

Lol, thats quite a funny scenario that you have put in front of us, and I can't say that I have ever licked my fingers in desperation because I can't get to the food fast enough...but yes I suppose on occassion when the food I am eating is particularly tasty I do lick my fingers. But then again, I am from India and as an Indian I am quite accustomed to eating with my hands anyway.

In a situation like this, I don't think that I would lick my fingers. However, at the conclusion of a meal that I am eating with my fingers, such as fried chicken, it is a habit of mine to lick my fingers. I learned this a long time ago and though I view it to be a rather disgusting habit, it has been something that I've not been able to quit doing in the duration of my life. But, if I knew I was going to be touching food that someone else could possibly touch, I will not lick my fingers.

Do you know what? I actually don't lick my fingers, i use a paper towel or a baby wipe to clean my hands instead. I've never really thought about it until now. My kids do the same as mee too, even if they have chocolate!

Hi arunmails I do not lick my fingers after eating. Let me give two reasons to explain why I do not lick my finger. First, I always eat food by chopsticks, so I do not use my fingers. Second, when I eat some bread or cakes, I use my hand, but even I finish it, I still do not lick my fingers either, I don't why, it could be habit. I think. Anyway, have a nice day!

Hi, arunmails. Oh, yes, I do, but only at home and with my family. I like eating with my hands, especially when having bone-in meat, like cooked chops and drumsticks. Actually, we have bone-in meat almost everyday, soooooooo....LOL

Well, if I'm alone at home, I might do it (very rarely, though). My husband does it often...it irritates me no end..lol. My kids love to do it but will do it only at the end of one of their favourite meals. I've always seen that they do it only at home and never when they are outside the home.

No. I eat pickles also with spoons. But that might be because I am lazy enough. :) If I eat with hands I have to get up to wash them in between the TV serial, he he. :) But if I eat with spoon. I can just place the plate on one side, and continue watching. :) However, I eat with hands most of the time. I am more comfortable with it. :)

It depends on the conditions; and the location where I'm eating at is one. I don't lick my fingers in public places or even in my home when there are guests around. It is another thing when I'm alone or just having a hearty dinner with my family and the food is just so succulent and juicy. It is in such times when I tend to lick my fingers BUT I don't lick it to the point of gobbling up my fingers.

Yes, I do have that habit. I just wanna lick it until all the savor is gone from my fingers, especially if the food is so delicious. But I only do of course, if I eat with my hands. If I use spoon and fork, then there's no need to lick my fingers.

I don't think its a good habit.But I must confess I do it occasionally.Espeacially when I eat very tasty food.There could be dirty between our fingers,by licking it,what we are really doing is to take these into our system.Sometimes we may become sick also.
