Have you ever ran out of budget? After all your obligations how much have you left in your purse?
Did you ever regret of something you bought which you found unnecessary and you think that you should have keep the money and not to left your purse almost empty?
I'm curious to know "What was the smallest amount left in your purse/wallet?
What lesson you have learned when you realized that your wallet/purse almost dries up?

hicloud31 well I went shopping a week ago and spent all but five dollars from my billfold and had to keep that as I willneed that for accessbus fare to see mydoctor, so had to use my debit card for the other nine dollars and three cents so in my billfold I have five ones and about one dollar and a half in change. of cou rse I still have one hundred dollars in my bank account but I still have several bills I will need to pay. I would not have run over nine dollars but I bought a top that I did not really need.lol my lesson is to write down just what each item costs then stop w hen you have reached what you intended to spend.

Hello ms hatley,
You learned a lesson for that lol, yeah its pretty hard goes beyond the budget and you have to regret what you have purchased that its not necessary if still have something to use,now with that $9 you really have to make a good budget analysis otherwise you will on foot going back home.lol.I just can't imagine counting coins from time to time to keep some for your fare..
But I'm happy to know you have a lesson for that, keep on track of your expenses.
Thank you for sharing ma'am ..Good day and Good health always.

There was this one time that i have to go to work and i forgot to place money for the day's allowance in my carry-on wallet. I was all dressed up and looking fresh. This previous work of mine usually takes me 2 shift rides from where i live. Upon waiting for my 2nd leg of my commute i realized i only had 2 pesos in my wallet and it's is still like 3 kms to the office. I had no choice but to battle the heat and fumes of traffic. Arrived to work safe but looks like i just got up from bed with my barong tagalog on. Well the going back home is another story.

Hi cloud31, last Tuesday I found there was no more stock of rice and onion in the kitchen when I was going to prepare meal. Rice is our staple food. I took my wallet and cycled to the nearby grocery to get some. Other than rice and onion I picked a dozen of eggs, some garlic as well as jug of coconut milk jam. There were only a few dollars and some coins left on the wallet only and it's not enough for the purchase at all. Oops... I had taken the wrong wallet in a hurry!
I have three same size wallets. Two are black in color whereas the other is a brown one. Actually I should take the bulky one which I have more notes in it. I could do nothing and had to cycle home to take the right one to pay for the bill. The caring grocery owner allowed me to take the stuffs back and clear the bill later
Happy posting

The smallest amount of cash that I would keep in my wallet no matter what is $10. It is not a lot of money but it can buy me two meals and allow me to take public transport. Yes there are times when I regretted over some items I have bought when I should have saved the money. After this lesson I learnt not to buy things due to impulse. I do not want to go empty when I truly need the cash. Sometimes we fail to think and plan for the future that we end up spend on things that are mostly unnecessary.

I can't rightly remember a specific amount to be quite honest but I know I have felt this way before. Buying things that I really should not have and regretting it later.

Hey cloud! I've left myself with only a few cents many times
when I've gone out on a shopping spree! I just can't help
myself when I go shopping sometimes! I might only be in a dollar
store and only have a few dollars in my wallet and will spend
it all right down to the last few cents! I am an admitted
shopaholic! I have to keep myself from checking out some of
the online stores sometimes because when I am online late at
night I go to Overstock.com or JC Penny and buy whatever! I am
dangerous! The other night I bought a vase, book and shirt on
Overstock.com and then was so angry with myself because I didn't
and shouldn't have bought any of that stuff! I maxed my target
visa card again! I keep paying it down and spending it back up!
I need to to lock myself out of my own accout!

Hello Opal,
That's sad to know that you really have to struggle for this kind of attitude, its really frustrating in your side.In the other hand some people are having difficulties to take control of their minds and finances. There are times you wanted to blame yourself but its really uncontrollable habit that you are not really happy when you still can see that wallet/purse still have money and you end up wasting it all to be satisfied.
I have encountered a lot of people like this and I can say Its really hard to control.Maybe you need to ask/read about a financial adviser dealing with your finances and how to take control of your habit.
The most frustrating on this is that when you need something urgently in need of cash you got no where to get and no one to run.So, we are really advised to keep a track on our saving even a little amount at least there is something we can withdraw in case of emergency.
I hope you can get through to that,Good luck and Happy myLotting!

Unfortunately, many times when my wallet dried up, I turned to the credit card. It did get out of control... It's in control now and I really watch what I spend my money on. I rarely buy frivolous things anymore...I don't need or want them. It's just more stuff to clean, wash, etc.

Hi cloud31! We have had a problem with our salary before, it delayed for more than a month so it really made me out of cash and I need to borrow money to other people. It's really a difficult situation when you have no cash on your wallet. It's so uncomfortable. But since then, I never let my wallet got empty again. Actually nowadays I seldom buy things for myself, aside from necessary things. I'm still comfortable with my current possessions. Have a pleasant day! :)

Hello Harold,
Yeah, some employee had this kind of problems regarding their wages,we cannot avoid that either, when it gets delay its really tough how to have a good budget for at least a month without the help of your income, so it has to have a perfect plan to save in this kind of situation you have something to drawn and not to be so tight of your expenses. At least you still comfortable with your situation .
Thank you for sharing and Happy myLotting!

I'm sad to say that I'm having one of those months right now where there is nothing in my wallet - LOL! Actually, I have credit and debit cards for back up, but I normally don't carry cash in my wallet unless it's going to the bank after I get off work for the day. So I guess I'm used to my wallet being empty! I've definitely gone over budget before too. I can't remember specifically something I regretting buying after the fact, but I know a lot of times I'll go grocery shopping while I'm really hungry and buy way too much food. Fortunately I have a freezer in my garage that will hold a lot of food and keep it fresh for months. That's nice to be able to stock up on freezer foods when it's on sale, but I still tend to stock up too much on food. I guess that's my biggest regret because you can't really go back to the store and return food to get your money back! I hope this month turns out better as far as money goes because it's my birthday in two weeks - LOL! For my present, I would like to have a little money left in the bank for savings after this month is over. I don't like to have to worry about money. I like to have plenty left over in savings and such. I figure, if I don't have to worry about money, I can spend my time on something else! Thanks for asking. I hope you have more money in your wallet than I do! Take care, my friend.

Since my sister-in-law hasn't been been working, I haven't been keeping any cash at all on my person. So, the smallest amount of money that I've had in my purse is just a few cents. Now, when she was working I would have at least five dollars in my purse at all times. That is the money that I didn't depend on to pay for our family's bills. That, instead, was our money that we kept to have fun with. I really hope that she gets a job soon so that I can have cash on my person again.

OH gosh I know I have been on that position and I always end up regretting it too. So eventually decided to either hide a little money like about $100 in place of my wallet I will forget I have for a while or just make a special account I can use for times like those, kind of like a safety net

nada, my friend. it's true, there had been times when my wallet simply ran out of every single penny that i have... but it was very rare. you see, it's difficult to go out of the house and leave you money behind. there's simply no way you can get through an emergency requiring money when you have no money. prudence is how this situation can be avoided.
