i love that i can google or go to yellowbook.com or other sites and find something in seconds but it just isnt the same as looking in a regular paper book yellow pages where there are ads that have extra info. i dont like how the ads show up on the sites.. most of the time thinking that its just a regular junk ad banner etc.. but of course im a save the trees girl so i guess i will eventually give up the paper for digital but i will miss it!! do you like digital or regular paper yellow pages?

It's funny I just finished a temp job where we had to deliver the Verizon phone books in our neighborhood. I honestly don't know of a larger source of wasted paper and plastic that exist anywhere!! Not to mention there were about 120,000 books in that warehouse and sooo many people kept telling me they already had a phone book. Not to mention, AT&T, HTC, and Verizon all have different phone books. They also have people handing out their publications. That's over 300,000 books!!! 300,000 plastic bags and a lot of trees wasted. Most people use the internet now anyway, or are just fine with one book a year. I just thought it was such a waste of paper to print all those books but I guess someone has to do it. And yes I still use the phone book, when necessary. With the internet and all the apps on our phones nowadays it just as necessary anymore but it does still have a purpose... for now...

i think i go for the old fashioned yellow book. i don't think everyone has an access to the internet. and even me, i don't have the regular internet to make a search of a number in the digital yellow pages.

I prefer looking things up online if I need an address or phone number of a business. I recycle and those phone books are HEAVY so every time we get a new one, the old one goes to the recycling center. As far as books (novels) go, though, I prefer holding a book in my hands and reading it than doing that e-book thing. I can concentrate on what I'm reading much better if it's not online. But, I do one thing that does save trees: I normally buy my books from a second-hand store rather than buying them new. I make a trip to Goodwill or Salvation Army about once a month to see what books they have. Apart from the books I want to keep, they go back to a second-hand store when I'm finished with them.

Hey moonlit! I guess it would depend! Sometimes when I am looking for something online I just can't get what I want to find! I sometimes find that it is easier to look it up the old fashioned way which really annoys me because that is so not easy either! I have become so computer reliant that anything that I have to do that isn't on the computer really makes my upset and angry! I do sometimes have trouble with the online Yellow and White Pages! I wish that it would be more simple and reliant, but there seems to be a glitch somewhere! And also when I use the 411 of my telephone provider that is even worse! I wish technology would just get it's act altogether already!

It is the digital that is always better as you don't have to flip through many pages to find a contact. Just type it and ,Lo ! you are given with the search results. That's it.

I do it the old fashioned way. I think it is due to habit. I think it is also because the internet doesn't contain everything.
