hi friends. as usual did my statistics thingy and found that from the 15 matches he played matty hayden scored 294 runs. sounds somewhat okay isnt it? just take off that 93 he scored against delhi and it will come to just over 200 runs from 14 matches in other words,he scored on an average 15 runs in those 14 matches. should he really play the finals considering his bad form? sure you can say that form is just temprary while talent is forever. but after 15 matches, you still believe he fires in the finals? it took just 4 games for deccan to kick out gibbs. it took 3 games to kick jayasurya out of mumbai indians. but after 15 matches, they still persist with hayden why? to give a grand send off to that guy who might not play the next IPL? if chennai want to win, they better remove hayden and try justin kemp or any other foreign player

I think Mathew Hayden has failed to deliver in this IPL. Only one reason I can think about it is the fact that he's aging out. I'm not sure on whether Hayden will play the next year IPL, if he continue with his current form which is not so good. Some say that the reason for his poor run is because of the little bat he carried throughout the tournament I think he have to re-consider his strategies and plans and play the next IPL with a positive frame of mind.

Well i wonder Hayden was suppose to be a nice player, but his performance in these recent matches are poor. But in finals, he got the Pollard out of track, so thank god he was in there.

I would surely play Hayden whatever form of cricket it might be. Let him be in the worst form of his life which he is in now but still that innings of 93 was a brute innings that took the air out of the opposition. and he has ample experience to absorb the pressure of a final which not many in the CSK team have. I will not talk about his ability to bat in trying circumstances as if he is playing street cricket but I will only say the personality he has and the reputation he holds surely makes him worth a member in the team. The opposition bowler surely feels pressure when he sees a giant figure in Hayden standing with the bat in his hand ready to bludgeon anything thrown at him. Also do not underestimate his fielding abilities. Against DD he took an exceptional catch in slips. His reflexes are lightening for a guy of his size. And he doesn't drop many catches. He would be an asset in the field. My call, Hayden should be there in the playing 11 for the final.

Hayden is an enigma on the field - leave alone his batting form. He is the seniormost player who can cheer up all the youngsters on field - he can bring his experience into use. Why didn't RR kick Shane Warne out??? Because he is very much cheering and seniormost. Why did MI kick out S.Jayasuriya and DC kick out Gibbs - they were in poor form, they were not the seniormost, they were not an enigma. No one can replace that 2nd spot of Hayden in the lineup. Hussey is a 4 down batsman and Kemp is a 5 or 6 down batsman. So, Bailey can only take the place - but Bailey is inexperienced.

This matty batty should be thrown out of the team. There is no use of him and his mongoose bat. His entrance and exit in the matches is as silent as the mongoose.
