Are humans superior to animals? Yes. In what way?
* Humans are conscious of their existence. They can ponder about the past, the present, and the future.
* In the Bible man was directed to have dominion over the animals and not vice versa.
* In the Bible man was given permission by God to eat animals, showing the superiority of humans over animals.
* In the Bible, man was created in God's image but it does not say the same for animals.
* Man can attain everlasting life but animals when they die their life ends.
Many misunderstand the word "soul." The word soul merely means the living creature or the life that the creature possesses whether present or future. Therefore both man and animals are souls.
Genesis 2:7 (King James Version) 7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:7 (Young's Literal Translation) 7And Jehovah God formeth the man -- dust from the ground, and breatheth into his nostrils breath of life, and the man becometh a living creature.
Genesis 1:20-25 (Young's Literal Translation)
20And God saith, `Let the waters teem with the teeming living creature, and fowl let fly on the earth on the face of the expanse of the heavens.'
21And God prepareth the great monsters, and every living creature that is creeping, which the waters have teemed with, after their kind, and every fowl with wing, after its kind, and God seeth that [it is] good.
22And God blesseth them, saying, `Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and the fowl let multiply in the earth:'
23and there is an evening, and there is a morning -- day fifth.
24And God saith, `Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after its kind:' and it is so.
25And God maketh the beast of the earth after its kind, and the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, and God seeth that [it is] good.
The Hebrew word nephesh, translated living creature, is the same word translated soul in Genesis 2:7. The word soul merely means the life, present or future on a creature.
Matthew 10:28 (Young's Literal Translation) 28`And be not afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but fear rather Him who is able both soul and body to destroy in gehenna.
This verse merely means that men can kill the body with the present life but cannot destroy our future life while God can destroy both the present and also the future life.
I hope this was helpful!

YES, YES, YES. I believe animales are the ones with the real soul. Humans who believe we are superior to animales are fooling themselves. Humans kill for fun or any other reason that they can think of. Animals as a rule don't kill each other for any thing other then food. Yes, there are exceptions but the exceptions are the animales that are supposed to be closest to Man. No, I don't think their souls are like Humans? No, theirs are much cleaner and purer.

Have you ever looked into the eyes of an animal that has been abused?
clearly you have not because if you had then you would know without a doubt that animals DO have souls!

I'm just wondering, why did a mango tree arranged its fruits to reachable places and when I came for those fruits a twig of the mango resemble a dirty finger pointing at me. It just proves that animals and trees have soul and they can think. If they have no intelligence they have no soul.

I may be higher on the food chain than animals and other living things (such as trees etc) BUT that doesnt mean I feel I am superior by any means..we are ALL equal beings as far as I'm concerned..That said, do I feel/believe that animals have souls? ABSOLUTELY!!

Animals are spiritual beings as well. We have just learned more lessons. With knowledge, greater capabilities alway follow. Some say that animals only have instinct. This is only man's ego convincing himself of his superiority. Look closer. Are animals that much different than ourselves????

i think so since they also have emotions and they can love humans too and protect them. I don't really feel superior to animals, we are just luckier than them- but they also deserve as much respect as humans do.
