SHOCKING!!!! duplicate credit card

My friend did tried to refinance his house..when he applied for it ,they checked everything. when they checked his credit score it was 639 but two months ago he knew his credit score was 730. When the agent checked everything about his financial, the agent found that he has a credit card duplicate from this certain bank ( no need t0 mention, right??)now he found out that on his credit card balance, the balance just keep hanging on that level of balance paying it for two years without using it.! the agent suggested him to file complaint at transunion.com. have you experienced such thing? what do you think about this? any suggestion? what action should be taken..since I am not very familiar with this kind of problem. thanks for your reply..!

I have a friend in the US who was also a victim of identity theft. It was years ago. I forgot the details but he was sued by a bank because he allegedly incurred $20000 in a credit card he did not have. My friend was not fond of plastics and so he always threw out bank letters to him offering a card. I think the bank believed him because he had no other credit card, and so they investigated. They suspected that someone picked through his trash and stole his identity.

yeah. that's the risks of having this credit cards nowadays you have to think many things about it from using it to your personal needs to protecting your identity. But my friends is now doing an investigation about it, he said he will find out the result of this this week. hope he is not a victim too! thanks for your reply
