So the kennel from hell was a match that took place between Al Snow and Big Bossman at Unforgiven 1999. He was said to be one of the worst gimmicks ever. Does anyone else remember this match. What were your thoughts on it?

As I remember it the dogs added nothing, and they were only there because Al's dog had been eaten - ridiculous in itself. Leaving the dogs on leashes negated their impact, and not having them restricted probably would have offended people.
All in all, just a really bad conception.

Oh, yes I remember that match. You know, this is just proof positive that people sugarcoat the Attitude Era when they say it was so great. I mean sure we had great stuff like Stone Cold versus Mr. McMahon, The Rock, DX, Mankind, and several more things that were pretty entertaining(Even though there are quite a lot of things that do not hold up all that well today all things considered). Still there were many things that were worse than a lot of the stuff that was happening over in WCW at the time, that was getting ripped to pieces.
So that brings us to the Bossman and Al Snow at Unforgiven 1999. These two men had some pretty fun hardcore matches at the previous two Pay Per Views. Not classic by any means but fun. However this match, wow. The so called killer dogs in between the two cages spent a lot of the match relieving themselves. Wow, I'm scared now. Plus the two cages made this match awkward to watch.
I'm going to go out on a limb though and say this is not the worst gimmick match of all time however. I am sure that I can come up with something that Vince Russo(who came up with this match, I'm sure) came up with over in TNA. In fact, Blindfold Match in a Steel Cage between James Storm and Chris Harris at Lockdown 2007. That one might have been worse. Also, that stupid reverse battle royal with the convoluted rules that lead into a tournament that I'm not going to even try to explain. Plus in WWF, there was that Pat Patterson against Gerald Brisco Hardcore Evening Gown Match. Also, Dustin Rhodes and the Blacktop Bully at WCW Uncensored 1995 fighting on the back of a flatbed truck. Then there was Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage fighting the Dungeon of Doom, the Four Horsemen, Zeus from No Holds Barred, and the guy who played Bane in Batman and Robin in a four tiered caged match with Ric Flair getting pinned. I think I'm just going to just stop there. Point being, this was bad but there have been many worse.

I actually really do like the attitude era for what its worth but some stuff was completly uncalled for I guess you could say. My word would be just a completely awkward match because the whole time you are focused on the dogs and not the match (not that the match was anything special anyways).
You are right though If yout hink of all the other rare stiulation matched they have had throughout the years this one might not really be the worse. Maybe you could say it was the worst from 1999 or from the attitude era in WWF/WWE but not of all time. I think they were really trying to make it in something that the fans were going to really get into but that just didnt happen.
