Do you remember the color of your first pair of eyeglasses?

When I was in elementary school, I remember that I had worn my first pair of eyeglasses. I needed them so bad because I could not see the chalk board. They were yellow, just like the sun. I had to wear this color. I had no choice. My grandmother was the one that had her opinion in on what type of eyeglasses she wanted me to wear. I always ended up wearing dorky looking eyeglasses and big lenses that looked only better on someone a little older. I am not trying to make fun of the elderly or anything, but my eyeglasses looked similar to what an very older individual would wear. They called these type of glasses, "grandma eyeglasses." I was so glad when I became much older to where I could pick out my own eyeglasses. I always wanted to wear smaller lenses that were thin. I thought that I could not wear them because of the state that my vision was in. I later found out that I could. Yippee!!! Do your remember the color of your first pair of eyeglasses? Did you like the color? Please share your comments. Thanks!

I was in junior high, when I got my first pair. I was going through a stage; as most young girls do. I was just starting to put on my make-up and styling my hair. I thought I was going to die when I had to wear glasses. I thought it was the worst thing that could happen.

Hi, momz2gd. That is how I was when I was younger too. I could not stand to wear glasses. I was so ashamed of them. When I would get to school, I would take them off. And when I went out into public, I would take them off before I got to my destination. I thought that it made me look dorky. But, now I wear my glasses with pride. I am not that much ashamed of my eyeglasses now. I guess it could be that I have a smaller frame and lense.

Hi cream97,
I was lucky when I was in elementary school, I din't have to wear glasses at that time. Later on though, in high school was when I started have vision problems and had an eye exam that determined that I indeed need glasses. Unlike you, I was able to pick my own frames. I choose black, don't ask me why, I just thought that was the thing to do. They just had regular clear lens, we could not afford the tinted lens, which is what I wanted. Over all I was pretty happy with my eye glasses. Now I wear contacts and I love the freedom.

Hi cream97! Oh my goodness, I started to wear glasses when I was in the first grade and man they were ugly. If you have even seen glasses from the 50, then you know what I am talking about. I heated them.
Have a wonderful evening

i remember mine has amber-colored hard frames. My mom picked it out for me because she was paying for it. haha.At first, i really hated it because I looked like a retro kid with big eyes. But my classmates liked it so i loved wearing it.

Yes,actually,I remeber the color of my first glasses. They were something like baby pink mixed with silver. When I think about it they were pretty cool but I never really wore them because I felt they made me look weird.Well...that was a long time ago. Then I got to choose my next pair of glasses which I just HAD to wear beacause otherwise my vision was going to get worse. Now I have like 10 pairs of glasses but I stil want to find a pair that even sligtly resembles my first because, maybe it's just my imagination but they were the best pair I ever owned...

hi cream how I hated my first pair of glasses as they were round and small and metal frame, really ugly.then later I had ones that were
oval with neat tortiseshell color and the pair I am wearing now are large ovals with skyblue frame and they really do show off my blue green eyes to good advantage but alas they are outdated. I need new glasses to correct my vision again.

Yup. Splotchy purple. I got them waaay early in life, too. I was in preschool. The other kids called me "glasses girl" and they wouldn't let me swing with them! As a little 3 year old I found that really disheartening. So no, I didn't like the color. I didn't like my glasses, but I could barely see without them. I got some pink frames and some golden frames later on in life whenever I had to change the lenses. I was fourteen when I started wearing contacts. I still have one pair of glasses that I wear whenever I take my contacts out. They're a silvery purple and they're pretty thin.

I couldn't remember the exact color of my first pair of eyeglasses. I started to wear one when I was in grade four since like you, I can't see what is written on the board. It was my mom who goes with me to buy a pair of eyeglasses. If I'm not mistaken it is a thin off white frame with a frame fitted for the shape of my face. Since my ophthalmologist was the one who pick a pair of eyeglasses for me so that I won't look too old for it :)

I remember my first pair. I was in second grade and had the same situation. I was getting in trouble for not doing work in class but it was because i couldn't see the board. They were plastic frames, clear with light purple around the rim of the frames. Purple was my favorite color and the color of my birth stone. I was so embarrased though. thankfully now I choose my glasses, or contacts. It goes by my mood when I want to wear glasses or contacts.

I don't remember for sure, but they were probably metal frames, gold or silver. Possibly I could find a picture somewhere (when I get home) and figure it out...
