I love Windows 7 but I can’t give up by favorite Linux OSeither. So, I finally decided to do a Performance Benchmark Showdown to decide who gets to rule on my PC. Probably, everyone knows what’s new in both of them.I’ve thought long and hard about usage comparison,Windows proves out to be higher on ease of use. On the other side I have years of Windows experience and a lot less with Ubuntu but I still can work with both without any trouble.

Um I can play almost all of the games Windows and Mac can. It may not be native to Ubuntu but Ubuntu and the rest of Linux can run exe's and app's. Also Linux is better than Mac and Windows. It is all because Linux is way more adaptive to computers than both those OS'es also Mac and Microsoft have no real motivation to create a good product because then you would have no real reason to upgrade so they are always going to have there problems so then Microsoft and Mac have something to get you to buy their next ones. Linux doesn't have that problem. Windows is slowly going to go away it will take a lot longer than Mac to disappear off the planet. Luckly Linux is the second most used OS in the world next to Windows for Desktop users. So it must not be for just hosting servers anymore it has grown into the consumer market with OSes like Ubuntu and Fedora. There is also a few others like SUSE which isn't as popular as the two that I just mentioned.

I have found Ubuntu to be a good gaming OS as well while it lacks the ability to play some of the newest games out there it can run Steam and Guild Wars very well. Ubuntu also has the lack of viruses because of its open source design. Linux is just an building block to Ubuntu and many other OSes out there. I would never go back to Windows because Ubuntu is stable and I haven't had any problems except for the occasional "I am going to reformat my drive and get rid of my OS that I am using" Oh... I think you know where I was going. But personally I got away from Windows because of the viruses and found Ubuntu after a friend said I should try it and I did. It was awesome. Ubuntu is very User friendly so you can just make a live Cd they have instructions on their website http://www.ubuntu.com on how to do that it is a 700mb download and all you need is a flash drive or cd. Then you can give Ubuntu a try without affecting your PC ever. I think it is an awesome that you can do that. Hope you stick with Ubuntu and move away from Windows. And well I hope you move away from Closed Source Software to the not so new but better Open Source Software that is now all over the intenet.

I am running a dual boot between Windows 7 and Ubuntu, and I consider both operating systems to be excellent. I have never really tried to compare them because they both have their good points and are quite different in many ways. I would not wish to part with either and intend to continue dual booting. I have also been looking forward to tomorrow because the new version Lucid Lynx is due for release. I know that many people are already using the beta version, but the full stable release is out 29th April.

Windows OS including the latest one Windows 7 are more focused on Multimedia content as well as gaming. Like watching movies. listening to sound and of course playing the latest PC and Online games out there. While Linux OSes are focused on development as well as utilities that are very useful. I suggest you could make your Linux as a Workgroup server to better protect your network with all of its tools and your windows 7 as your network client to do your day to day activities. That way you are very flexible on your tasks. If you need to choose just one, then choose what you NEED and not what you want.
