Lindsey Graham Told to Admit His Homosexuality?

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm here to defend Republican SC Senator Lindsey Graham! At a recent tea party event, at which Graham was NOT in attendance to defend himself, William Gheen, the head of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, a right-wing, anti-immigrant effort said this:
"I'm a tolerant person. I don't care about your private life, Lindsey, but as our U.S. Senator I need to figure out why you're trying to sell out your own countrymen, and I need to make sure you being gay isn't it."
Apparently, he was referring to Graham's efforts regarding a bipartisan illegal immigration bill as "trying to sell out your own countrymen".
The PAC later sent out the following email release:
The national border security organization known as Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) is officially calling for US Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to make his homosexual lifestyle public knowledge in the interest of political integrity and national security...
"US Senator Lindsey Graham is gay and while many people in South Carolina and Washington DC know that, the general public and Graham's constituents do not," said William Gheen President of ALIPAC. "I personally do not care about Graham's private life, but in this situation his desire to keep this a secret may explain why he is doing a lot of political dirty work for others who have the power to reveal his secrets. Senator Graham needs to come out of the closet inside that log cabin so the public can rest assured he is not being manipulated with his secret."

Does anyone else find this as slimy as I do? I'd never heard of any rumors about Graham's sexuality and frankly I could care less.

This is worse than slimy! Why oh why is william Gheen so concerned about Sen Graham and his sexuality? I can honestly say I've spent not a second thinking about it. How would Sen. Graham admitting (if it is true which I still don't care about) improve political integrity or national security?

Yup - the political scene is getting dirtier and dirtier as the years roll on.
Staying with the issues is what's important, and attacks or threatening someone's integrity is the lowest of the low!

The guy doesn't care about Graham's private life, yet he wants him to admit that he's gay publicly because he thinks Graham's sexuality is affecting his loyalty to his country? That's a self-contradictory, backwards view if I ever saw one. He does care about Graham's private life, otherwise he wouldn't have said it.

Whether Graham is or isn't, it isn't this guy's place to open the closet door. Who does this yahoo think he is, Perez Hilton?

I can't help thinking that they're using the one weapon the extreme right will hang on to in order to get Graham out of the way. I haven't heard any rumors, either, not even from my gay friend who can usually spot them a mile away. Since infidelity doesn't seem to bother them (unless, of course, someone who's a Dem does it), they use the one thing that they know WILL kill a person's GOP career. Schoolyard tactics, name calling, prove you're not what I say, and all that. It's just all so childish.

Classic.
Gheen vs. Graham DEATHMATCH!
The only way I could see this as head turning would be if Graham is actually gay and trying to hide it. Other than that, it's just some loose BS from an unimportant schmo that Graham should be able to laugh off.
He's a moron if he's wrong - which I'll assume he is. And he's an azzhat if he's right for outing the guy. Like a poster above me said, that's some Perez Hilton sht.
Maybe Gheen should hook up with Bertha Lewis. They'd make some cute yet batsht crazy conspiracy-driven babies.
But... this is what loons do. And unlike some, I know full well the loons are everywhere and aren't reserved to one side of the aisle.
Where's my L on the forehead emoticon?

Any excuse not to have real conversations about real problems. And we wonder why it is so hard to get anything positive done with this kind of trash going on.
Mr. Graham is certainley not gay, my god he was McCains side kick all through the election. I am not found of the man because he is constantly changing his position depending on the day of the week but he does not deserve to be attacked on a personal level for anything.

well clearly if Graham is gay, he is not fit to serve. I am a taurus and so therefore am much more qualified. Even though I am not a resident of South Carolina. see? that makes as much sense. I understand the point that Gheen is making. He is trying to say that the ONLY reason Graham is working with the Dems is because they are blackmailing him. Now, I am going to go out on a limb here, doesnt Graham have a history of working across the aisle? OMG wait a minute - does this mean that any Republican that works across the aisle is gay? so our very own maverick is gay? How about Olympia Snow? lmao. So I was going to start looking at anything and everything that every Republican has ever agreed with a Democrat but then I decided that it really wasnt worth the effort..... Its true Annie - I agree with you AGAIN, I will try not to make it a habit.

Graham is a RINO, and if he is a closet case, he should come out, because the Democrats are putting the squeeze on him. That's the rumor, anyway. I didn't know that someone had publically stated it. He's supporting O's pet projects, that's for sure. Better hope that cap and trade doesn't go through, because homeowners are shafted if they try to sell their homes. You'll have to spend lots and lots of money just so it passes their new 'green' standards. Since when do rich people only own houses? Lol, I'm sure as heck not rich!

I knew I didn't like Lindsey Graham when I watched him on TV and when I spoke with various members of his staff. I disagree with his positions on most issues. I am most concerned about his being a RINO, but now I understand his need to hide who he really is. Too bad so many in postition to harm us and direct our lives are themselves so corrupt and duplicitous.
