When you have a sleepover, or a girl's night in, what do you like to pop into the DVD player? I think every girl loves a good chil flick once in a while- I know my group of friends and I have our favorites, lol. Legally Blonde and Miss Congeniality seem like common favorites, I also like The Princess Diaries.

My fabourite chick flick and probably the only chick flick I actually like would have to be Never Been Kissed. that movie is just so cute, funny and sad. It stars Drew Barrymore and she is just absolutely amazing in that role. Anyways the movie has a really cool plot and and even better ending. If you havent seen it...you should!!

olisaur, I didn't know the movies you mentioned are categorized as chick flick films. But these are also amongst our favorites. Honestly, I didn't know that there is such a classification as chick flick. I had a pack of old films that include Liz Taylor and Dolly Parton in the title roles. The carton cover says Chick flick. So, I thought chick flick movies refer to realistic old movies with lessons about life. Thanks for the info. My daughter's friend come to the house for sleepovers. They like love stories like Wimbledon, and of course the ones up there.

A chick flick is a movie more suited to girls/women rather than men. It is purely romantic and may also be funny, sad, or quirky. "Realistic old movies" and "lessons about life" have very little to do with a chick flick.

Would you seriously call Legally Blonde a classic? I lean more towards, Thelma and Louise, Beaches, Pretty Woman, Love Actually, the Bridget Jones Diaries, Steel Magnolias. I like my chick flicks with a bit of humour and a smidgeon of serious or sad every now and then.

I like Miss Congeniality. Have you seen the sequel? It wasn't very good. But the first one was enjoyable in my opinion too. I do like a good chick flick. When I was child my friends and I had occasional sleepovers, and one movie we always watched was Anne of Green Gables. The movie was developed from the books, and we just loved it. Other chick flick favorites of mine are While You Were Sleeping, Clueless, and Sense and Sensibility.

Those are some great picks. I especially love The Princess Diaries; I haven't seen it in a while though because I keep forgetting to purchase my own copy of the DVD. I'll have to put it on my shopping list, though. The one my friends and I always pick is A Walk to Remember, Roman Holiday, Jane Eyre, Love Actually, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. There are a couple more, though, but I can't remember. I'm looking forward to Letters to Juliet, which will come out next month; I hope that's a good one so that my friends and I can just add it to our list.

The other day, we had a "girls movie night"... Lots of totally unhealthy food, martinis and of course, Twilight and New Moon. It was such a blast we decided to follow through and make it a monthly tradition. Some of the girl movies we have decided on are: Practical Magic, Nodding Hill, Brigadoon, Sweet Home Alabama, Hello Dolly and Phantom of the Opera!
