Howdy Jinjer! If i'm working i'll choose to have a uniform rather than civilian clothing. Women almost always wear blouse and skirt as their uniform and i'll go with that. I hate washing jeans cause they are so heavy and it's practical too. I can have only two uniform but nobody will notice that...lol

Hello ersanmiguel! thanks for the fast reply, yes it's very true that having a uniform will save you from buying clothes again and again. Uniform was very practical and i prefer to wear those also over civilian clothes. THanks again and have a nice day ahead!

I am proud to wear uniforms in my line of work. I am a nurse. Wearing a uniform helps my patients to recognize me as a health care professional. Also, wearing a uniform keeps my regular clothes from becoming soiled with things from work.Uniforms can be very fun to wear, and they are quite practical.

Hello eidoj31! Yes its true and we are the same for thinking that way with regards to wearing uniform during our work. Yes indeed, nurses can be easily recognized when they're wearing their uniforms especially with nurse's cap. Nice to hear something from you, good luck!

Hi there lightknight! well good for you that you like to wear civilian clothings because some jobs really required their employee to wear their own choice of clothes. We all have our own taste and preference, so i value what you want for your own self. Good luck and thanks a lot for your response!

I'm glad that I am provided with a uniform in my current job because I wouldn't want to be wearing my own clothes to deal with the stuff I come into contact with! The uniform is practical and suitable from a health and safety point of view, its hard-wearing, has enough pockets and I quite like the colour. It also means that, when I'm getting up at 5.30am I haven't got to spend time deciding what to wear. Do you wear a uniform?

Hello there Wizzywig! I agree with what you've said. Having a uniform eliminates you from everyday thinking of what to wear every time you will report for work. Good thing that you like what your uniform looked like plus the fact that it gives you enough pockets for whatever you make like putting into it. Yes i wear a uniform with my jobs before but now, since i only required to work 3 times a week, i only wore civilian clothes, but if i have a choice, i will surely go for uniforms. Thanks a lot, have a nice day ahead!

wearing an uniform could save more money than civilian attire. Besides, people would not give an attention if we are using the same clothes everyday.

Hello ifa! yes i agree with you. Wearing uniform makes us equal to the eyes of everyone. It also eliminates much more spendings on clothes because wearing civilian attire will surely makes anyone uncomfortable when they wore the same clothes again and again. Nice to hear your thoughts and stay happy!

That is the advantage of wearing uniform. It could save the earth too if we don't have to buy clothes most of the time I think. save more money, save the world...

I would feel more comfortable to work with a uniform. At least I will not have to think what to wear for the following day and would not worry of doing the laundry because I will need to wear the formal clothes again for the following week.

Yes exactly! i don't really want to splurge much into clothes. I mean for me it's not really a necessity. But I cannot do anything because in call centers we don't have a uniform. So, for me it will still be okay to use my clothes all over again. It's just a matter or mix matching.

Hi there mavieserrano! You are absolutely correct and we do have the same views regarding the advantages of wearing uniforms instead of civilian cloths. Thinking of what to wear everyday was not a very simple task especially if you don't have much clothes. THe tendency is to buy a new one if you are ashamed that every one might commented that you are wearing the same attire again and again. So it means spending the money from buying clothes instead of saving it for much important things. It's also very practical as well when it comes to maintaining one's uniform because most of them are light weight, wash and wear/ or easy enough to ironed and easy to wash too. Good luck to you and have a nice day!

I also like wearing uniform to work. I'm now working from home, but in my previous job, we were provided with uniforms 4 sets to wear from Monday to Thursday, Friday is civilian day. I like it that way coz nobody notices that I have few clothes, lol.. also, I'm often late when it's civilian day because it takes me a lot of time to decide what clothes to wear or if my clothes match. ^^

Hello eppie2010! Wow, i wish i could work from the comfort of my home too...I would be so glad if you could teach me how,... Some companies required their employees to wear uniforms 4 days a week and 1 remaining day wearing civilian attire. Imagine you only have one day to think about what to wear, but then it takes you a lot of time to decide, how much more if you've got 5 days to wear civilian clothes. It's a big problem for me too, and not practical, more so. Thanks for your response eppie! have a wonderful day ahead!

I get my work at home jobs mostly from Odesk.com. Visit their website and you can browse a lot of freelance jobs that allows you to work from your home. I'm an early retiree and it's been more than year since I retired, I was thinking of applying for a call center job like some of my friends who availed the early retirement program, but most of them say that the work is very stressful, so I think I will stay with my present part time online jobs for now until I get bored.

I am self employed so usually my uniform is jammies! I generally hate wearing uniforms but I do believe that there are times that uniforms are necessary. If you have a messy job, it is good to not have to wear your own clothes. There are also cases for professionalism. When I go to business events, I dress accordingly and I consider that a type of uniform. I avoid these occasions as much as possible!

Thank you so much Jinjer! But let me say regarding working for yourself, no paid sick days, no vacation, no paid holidays, no raises just more work. BUt there are a lot of positives too! Jammies, choose your schedule, refuse work if you dont want to do something, everything you do makes you money... I love it and would find it very difficult to work for somebody else!

Hi, I prefer to have uniforms than wearing regular clothing because it will make it easier for me to get dressed every morning. Even though I am a professional I like to have uniforms because I don't have to think about what to wear everyday which is very tiring. Furthermore when we have to wear ordinary clothes we have to purchase a lot of clothes since we don't want people to gossip us on having only very little clothes to wear. If we wear uniforms people will never gossip us even when we wear the clothes that we have worn yesterday because they don't know.. He He.. Have a great day to you too.

Hello ms lady survivor! Yes you are so correct for saying that. I also say yes for wearing uniform in my work. Uniform eliminates the daily worries of what to wear the next day plus it also saves a huge amount of money intended for buying new clothes because it was somewhat very intimidating if you wear the same clothes again and again. Sadly, my work requires me to wear civilian clothes that's why i am having those disadvantages of what you've mentioned in your response. Good luck and God bless!

When I am working before I prefer to wear a company uniform because it's much easier that way. I no longer have to think hard what will be my get up or what clothes to wear everyday. the company uniform gives you a security that you belong in a respected company. The people will look at you with respect because you have a descent job. Wearing a civilian clothes during work is fine if the company allowed that but as what i have said before I prefer the company uniform than my own clothes. Sometimes the attire defines your personality.

if you are just new in your jobs the management of course would not allow you or provide a uniform as it usually happen unless if you are a practicing nurse or doctors you should be identified even you are just a volunteer. But if you want you could use a formal attire so that you will look professional and that customer will respect you. You can consider your formal attire as your uniform

Hi there, worldbestwriter2008! Thanks for your tips and advice, yes what you said was true. My question was do you prefer uniform or civilian attire when you are at your work? More power and good luck!

I go to my workplace in a civilian attire. I dont think our company can afford to buy us some uniforms. They have provided us some shirts that we should be wearing on Wednesdays but I dont like wearing it because of the color. The color of the shirt is green and it was so green. That's why I dont like it very much because I am not a fan of green.

HI p3ks626, i totally understand you for not liking your only uniform, it's not easy to wear something if you hate its color. You're lucky enough because you still have 4 days to enjoy yourself choosing what you really wanted to wear. With regards to the green color of your shirt that you don't like as much, just learn to like it even if it's hard because you cannot do something about it, if it's your company's wish to require you to wear that green color uniform. Stay happy!

It's the job I'm after not the uniform. But if I have to I would. Glad it's not. Can be somewhat boring isn't it? You can't wear the latest trend can you? Of course there are jobs which require one to be in uniforms. The police, the army, they look great in them.

We do have different likes and dislikes really but in this case, im happy that you got what you wanted, and that is to have freedom in choosing your every day clothes which are a hassle and costly to many including me. I truly appreciate your response and stay happy with wearing your civilian attires okay! More power and good luck!

I prefer wearing a uniform at work because then I wouldn't have to think much about what to wear every day. I also don't like it when my clothes get worn out because I have to wear them at work. It would be nice if the clothes that I like would last longer. I suppose I could wear something at work that's just cheap, but that might make me look cheap too. I want to look presentable, and having a uniform would do that.

Hi there angelajoy! Its true. It's so hard to think of what to wear every single day especially if you don't have enough clothes and if you are required to wear office attire because as we all know, they are pricey. It's best to have uniforms, you will not just look presentable but they will cost you a lot of savings as well. Thanks a lot for your response, have a nice day!

In general I don't really like wearing uniforms (school, work, etc.). I understand that sometimes it is more appropriate and even obligatory, but everyone should be able to express his own personality and wear whatever he or she wants. Some jobs and schools are better with uniforms because of the environment and I totally accept that but if a country accepts to put uniforms on people for every kind of job we would unite with the society and look in some way all the same, which is not acceptable for me. We live to express ourselves in life depending on clothes, abilities, talents, etc. Have a nice Mylotting

Hello ajarvaise! If I were in your situation, for sure i will buy clothes regularly. It's just so hard that somebody will notice that you're wearing the same clothes again and again. Yes, its very practical to have an office uniform. It might as well better if you've got uniform attire within your company, so you may suggests it to your boss, if it's possible.
