hell0 there! well, as we know the kids of today like to play games online more than playing som real games with their friends, and this is one scary fact, which makes me think about the future of the kids and also of my kids, when I of course have some. I also have been on that age, and it was the age of the computers, when every one wanted to have one, and PC were something like luxury. well, i still remember my first PC and how excited I was to have it. I spent many hours sitting on the PC, playing games, listening to music, surfing, and as you told I just got addicted to it, and suddenly I realized that I was getting away from my friends, from my common life that I have had till now, and I really was scared. I didn't told anybody about that, and tried to solve the problem by my own, and I was happy when I did it. well, I guess that if students get addicted to PC games we must really first try to let them know what happens with them and then try to maek them solve the problem by their own, and if the have the will to do it, then they will, if not, then we should first show them what happened with them, what happened with the friends they have, what happened with the life outside, because the most of the students who get addicted to PC games forget about all these things. And if this doesn't help the next solution is the "power supply". just go and reject the internet provider till further notice, till the student don't realize his/her situation and quit with these games. there are many students who have gone down in school and also in private life just because of online games, just becaues of the cyber world they went into and parents mustbe really carreful with their kids and allowing them to play on the PC/laptop!

i don't think this will be solved very soon. and i don't think, as parents, we can do more to stop them. it is the new technology that we have now. so, even the pre-school kids are already getting addicted. i could say, to stop them is for them get rid of the computers, if they do it at home. but if they can do games out of the house, we can only limit their school allowance.

teachers should tell these students parents about it. even college students need to be guided in such a way that there should still be communication between parents and even mere subject teachers. college students just look old but they still think young. parents should only give money just for food and transportation. nothing more. parents should give enough time to monitor their children's lives. if they can't they shouldn't have any more children. continue to report to the respective government agency/ies about the presence of these computer cafes near schools. these government agencies do take action for there is already an ordinance against presence of these computer cafe's near a school's vicinity.

The best thing to do would separate yourself from what you're addicted to. It's not always easy and is usually something really hard to do, but just keep yourself busy doing what you need to do. It'll be very hard at the beginning, but the longer you go from doing what you were addicted to then the easier it becomes. After that, there's almost no addition. If you see yourself getting addicted to something, it's important to stop doing it. It's okay to enjoy something, but always set up a time limit and stick to it because otherwise it'll just interfere with the things you need to do. I've been there and usually I end up having "one day addictions" now. I let myself do something that I enjoy (like playing SPORE or Sims) all day for one day when I have the day off and then I won't play it again for a long time. ^_^

If your a parent of a student whose pretty much addicted to online games i think you should do some measures to make sure that your kid will be somehow controlled. First make him realize that life is pretty much hard nowadays and that they need to pay attention to their education more than just those games. Limit their gaming time that your allowing, this may curve their craving for online games. Try to give them incentives if they make it good in school try everything in a way that it wont be too harsh so that they will be able to understand you more
