Is it really nice to have a gay best friend?

I know movies like my best friend's wedding (though I have not watched it) show what a gay friend can do (I heard the character Julia Roberts play has one). Is it really nice to have a gay best friends? All I have are girlfriends but through watching shows I see that having gay friends are great since they should I say both man and woman. I think the are mostly happy people.
Do you have a gay friend? How nice is it?

I've had friends who are gay but I've never had a gay best friend. My friends who were gay were just like any other friend I had. I could eat lunch with them and talk about whatever I wanted to talk about. Gay guys are good at shopping, I don't know this from personal experience but its what I hear. If I had a gay guy friend right now, I would take him shopping with me all the time so he could help me out. :-)

I hear that a lot, about gay friends are good at shopping. Is it because they are more fashionable? I can see a lot of gay people in the fashion world so that maybe the case.
I admit I am not good at shopping so it would be reallly nice to have a gay friend.
