I rate myself at 3. I don't really get lost easily. I just don't seem to know where I come from when I see it in a different orientation. I am not 100% of the time lost. I am just not the walking map like everybody else. I am working on it :) How about you?

I would rate myself about 5 because I am quite good at knowing the way to go when I arrive in a new city. I have come unstuck in a few cities that have confused me. The worst one was a coastal town in Estonia. I found it impossible to find the guest house I was going to stay at. Then a disaster happened: my son's pushchair wheel came off! I was struggling with all my luggage and my son in a broken pushchair. Bless her, a local lady came out of her house to help me. She kindly assisted me and found the guest house. I asked a local mom where I could buy a new pushchair from and she gave me the details. I found the shop and gave them my son's old pushchair to dispose of. I bought a brand new pushchair. I am an experienced traveler so that is why my sense of direction is fairly good.

I have bad sense of direction. I would rate myself as 2. I really really don't know how to read maps, instead i usually follow any signboards i see. When I go to certain places for the first time, I tend to forget my way and won't know how to go there the second time. Landmarks are important when you can't find your way, but I also forget to look for which landmarks. So, I key-in every landmarks, signboards or exits i see in my cellphone. Really, really bad.

I would think I'm an 8, I guess. The city I live in now is more or less a grid system, so it's not that hard to navigate. The reason I give myself a relatively high score is that once I go somewhere, I tend to know my way around. The first time I went to Paris was 2004, for two days. I went again in 2006. I was pretty much able to navigate my way around the areas I had been before without a map, which was really useful.

I rate myself at 7. I don't easily get lost. If I pass by a place ones I usually know how to go out and get back to the place. I also tried finding places I have never been just by description of there landmarks.
