Every employer will have expectation towards their employees and every employee will hope for a good boss.Unfortunately it is not easy at all since we are all different people and it will not be that perfect.Share us with your opinoion then.

Bottom line is respect. It is something that needs to be earned not demanded. Both parties have to earn it. I guess in everything the key is being flexible and knowing yourself. Some boss is so insecure that they resort to superiority complex. they tend to be strict and domineering, and everything seems to be illogical except his own ideas. But the truth is he's the boss, He owns the company. he will always expect productivity and maximizing what he paid you for (which even result sometimes to doing jobs not your own), and suck everything in you. The employee (most of which) will try to get as much as one could from the company or his boss. He will get as much time for his own than in his work. Many times they arrive late, after which drink some coffee, browse the internet, then start to work. It seems what is important is to do your best to whatever you do, and be the best that you can be; sooner or later you get the respect of the other, whether you are the employer or the employee.

I've heard this crap over and over and it's wrong. Every person on this planet should get respect. I agree that a person should in a sense earn "high regard" on the job or in social situations. But another definition for respect is "heed" and every living thing should be heeded because you don't know them. In terms of heed, you earn disrespect. Too many times, people disrespect others upon first meeting them or dealing with them. And I think the young take the "earn respect" thing and get the wrong idea. So they think they have to disrespect a person until the person earns it. This is one reason for fights and murders and it is not good to tell folks that people have to earn their respect as if they're some god or something. Matter of fact, respect seems to have left the planet. Not a day goes by that I don't see people talking over each other or butting in while someone's talking or rudely interrupting two people already in conversation.

I don't think you have the right to tell me what's wrong or not...You typify a person who doesn't understand the word, and wanting to be respected but never knew how. By the sound of your crap, it sounds like it is demanding respect not earn it... If you understand the word earned, it means "merited". you never say it but you show it first to others, then they will do the same to you. It is like the saying "smile, and the world will smile back at you"...It is the same with the golden rule for Christians, and the silver rule for Buddhist.

With the last job that I had outside the house four years ago, I had a very good relationship with my boss and most of the other upper management in the company as well. This was great in that I felt like I was able to grow with the company. I would still be there today if it weren't for the fact that I gave birth to my second child. And, my husband is like a brother to the management in the company that he works for. It really works out great for us in that they've been able to deal with the medical issues that he has had to deal with this year in stride.

There should be a limit with regards to an employee - employer relationship. I remember my code of ethics subject and i'm sticking with that. We shouldn't be that close with our employers or employees or else it will be unethical.

I agree with JayMar about coming to work to do your best. I also agree that for a company to be successful, it's workers must work towards the success of the company. A good product must be put on the market, and it would be much better if the product were great. Having said that, many companies are too greedy. And some of them hire thugs for bosses who would have blended in good with Hitler's regime. Under these types of people you need unions. I've seen many of them. In Detroit I taught under a principal who once fired his own daughter. Yet, he was one of the best bosses I ever had. I've also had morons for bosses. For example I remember the boss who had me go outside and wash windows in the dark before the higher ups saw me out there and chewed him out. I've also seen employers lie and bamboozle for that extra buck. So I think that if you can stomach the job and the employer makes the job so that you are respected until you prove otherwise, and they make it so you want to help make the company a continued success, then you have a good relationship. But nowadays, there are so many seeking jobs, that the company doesn't take any pains to see if their employees are being treated right. And don't let the employee be a foreigner her in America. I can tell you some things.
