The media effect on body image of women

Arguably, the message society gives - through media - to the regular woman emphasises an abnormally slim female figure as ideal. As a result, in order to become as slim as the model presented by various media, many women develop - to a certain extent - an eating disorder. So should society and media, change its message concerning the slimness ideal or slimness as it is presented should become a standard for normal/ attractive/ desirable?
