Have You Wondered Why No Matter How Good You Are, Bad Things Still Happen?

I know that this might sound self-centered and a bit on the
ridiculous side, but it's a question a need to ask! I try to
be the best me that I can be! I know we have no control of our
destiny and things happen that we just have no say in! But, I
was just wondering why I always have this dark cloud following
me around and can't seem to shake! I have some health stuff to
face that I am kind of scared about and that I have no control
over. The outcome will be what it will be! But, do you sometimes
say to yourself, when is it going to get better and when am I
going to catch a break? I would just like a little gleam of
happiness for a change! Sorry for being a downer guys! So, what
say you?

Hi Hatley,
The more you think about your health stuff the more you are worrying, ib not be as bad as you think, I know that feeling though, recently I was having so many bad news and then yesterday I felt on top of the world then someone has to push me off it and I have been feeling very depressed, this was not fault of my own but this person had said things to me which has really upset me, I know I shouldn't take any notice but the words has really hurt me, I am trying to forget about it but its hard to, well you just take it easy and don't worry so, hugs.

There have been times in the past where I was out right depressed. Things weren't happening the way I wanted them too, and I felt like I was always being kicked to the curb by friends, family, coworkers, even complete strangers I believe from time to time. I still have those moments where all I want is a hug, but I want everyone to know it and me not have to say it. There's times that I cry but I don't know why I do. I am a very sensitive person. Anything can really make me start to cry, even if the way it's said or why it's said is not meant to make me cry.
In the past I didn't know how to drive and I really kicked myself for it I always thought "if I knew how to drive I could do this or that" and "I wouldn't be so cooped up anymore." Well I'm learning to drive now and I feel so much better about myself because of it. I still feel down or irritated when i dont' do something right, I guess you could say I expect to much of myself too quickly.
There are times in the past that I have also worried about something, health wise, or something else. There's been times that i've been obsessive to the point that I think I have OCD.
I don't think it's wrong that at the lowest points of our lives we just want things to be okay, we want to be the happiest we've ever been, and we want things to go right. I've always heard that it's really up to us how our day is going to be, and I try to tell myself "this will be a good day" or "stop nagging and everything will be okay" but sometimes it's easier said then done.
Just letting you know that we all have our dog days!

I come from a family that thinks the worse and thus I do as well. Sometimes when it comes to things we're worried about the most, even a good natured "everything will be okay" is annoying to hear. I just wanna say that you'll pull through, I believe you're a very strong person. Good Luck To you and try to keep your mind off of it (easier said then done I know).
Love you too,

Hi Cowgirl! I think that you have alot of the same way of thinking
that I do! I am also very sensitive and can sometimes cry at
the drop of a dime! I haven't cried yet about this latest nightmare,
but I know that as time gets closer for me to get the Mammogram and
Sonogram I will! I am very frightened now because I have already been
through this before and already had one surgery. I keep thinking the
worst, of course. Everyone keeps telling me that everything will be
fine! Well, do they want to be in my body right now? I doubt it!
Thanks for sharing and caring! Love, Opal

Some Cowgirl, you are learning one of the secrets--"If possible, take action".You are learning to drive.I see you changing all the time here online. All of you also know the support of having friends here online. I sometimes wish I could just instantly zap myself here and there and try to fix things for all of my hurting friends. We do not earn good treatment from the universe. Being good does not fix things, but it does let us feel self righteous. Not that we should not do good, and feel good about it, but we just have to know that there is no magic in it.We cannot protect ourselves from misfortune by being good. We can only lighten the load of others. Opal, I wish I could be there, I would hold your hand while you are scared, and Hatley, if I could, I would insist that someone hire your son, for anything. Tamara, I would stand up for you and tell people to not burst your sunshine bubble. Just know that these things are in my heart for you.

I think that is just life and Karma and fate that mixes all together to make YOUR LIFE! I don't believe the god and it's all a test thing. I do believe life is what you make it and that if you screw up Karma will bite ya on the proverbial rear. If I can just keep it together until we good stablized in a place for my granddaughter's sake and her babie's then Fate and Karma have done their bits.

I think as humans we can both look back over our younger years and find specific situations where we were selfish, not thinking ractionally, being immature, etc. I know I can. There are things I could have handled better. Karma smarts. We are none of us perfect. I have learned alot.

That's great thinking Celticeagle. Opal, being nice does not necessarily add credits to your life patterns. Sometimes the otherway might do good for you. All depends upon situation. Karma is a good logic, not the destiny. All deeds done by one have to produce results depending the situation. Better to be wise about how nice you can be. Some problems like health do nag, but that's all in the game of life! Look to the positive things in your life to get over the feeling of depression.

To simplify it, it's the so-called Yin Yang(the balance of nature). Every good thing has its bad end. And every bad thing has its good end. Do not believe that perfection is achievable. But believe that with the idea of perfection, everything you like can be nearly achievable.

Hi girlie! Well... I will repeat what I said on facebook earlier... people are not reponsible for natural disasters, bad things, etc etc. I have had days when everything that could go wrong goes wrong, but I'm a glass half-full kinda person, and I guess I don't see it the same way. Now if it's another PERSON who is purposely causing problems and I find out, that's different.
What is going on with you? I haven't been around here as much, you can pm me or send it to my email if you want. I know about some of the health problems, but maybe not all. There has to be an answer - and until you find out, try to enjoy whatever you can and not worry. ((hugs))

Life is like a roller coaster too, it is not in stasis. I always laugh when I encounter people who think things are 'all good' or 'all bad' There is no such thing. Just like waiting 20 minutes for it to start raining in WA, just wait 20 minutes, things will change. I don't like change, especially change forced upon me, so that's my problem to deal with when it comes, but I know when things suck, they will eventually improve again. I know it. I have experience and faith because that is what's always happened. I've bounced back from really horrible things, and I'm sure I will again. Doesn't mean I want horrible things to happen, but all of life doesn't stay that way and nobody will be sad forever.

I firmly believe everything happens for a reason.. though we don't always know what that reason is. Good things usually come out of every bad situation, even if it takes 5 or 10 years for you to see those good things. Also I think a lot of it has to do with how you deal with your problems. A positive person can see a silver lining in almost anything, but a negative person is going to see everything in their life as negative. Sometimes, in our darkest hours, all we can do is look around and count our blessings. This health problem your facing is definitely scary.. but what else do you have in your life that is positive? You have a roof over your head, and a boyfriend who cares about you, and other friends and family members... etc etc.
Best of luck with your health concerns.

Reading your comment, is like looking into a mirror.
I have days...even YEARS...where I go through the same thing.
When will this craziness end?
I've incorporated the word "albatross" into my daily vocabulary, rather than wear a necklace of like kind, though I doubt it would make much difference.
Mind you, there are days when EVERYTHING goes completely well.
However those types of days are rare, and their arrival is hard to predict.
I know exactly what you mean, and empathize.
Peace to you always my friend.

Hi,
There is no such thing as Bad. Everything has both bad and good sides. Its us who choose one of them and that essentially depends on our own mental state. I mean there are people who in spite of being in very distressful situations always finds something positive out of it, and indeed there must be at least one. When our mind is dark, we overlook the light and when it is enlightened, we stay away from darkness. An integrated mind accepts both but takes only the enlightened aspect. It never denies the darker side, as that would be mere denial of reality. It rather finds its element of satisfaction only in the good side. You don't control outcomes. You just can't, no matter how you try. So its better be the cause and relinquish all control over the consequences. Let it be as God wishes, because He always has the very best in store for you. Take care
God bless you

hell0 my friend!
Yeah, it is really strange sometimes how bad things happen to us, even when we are trying to be the best, but maybe there is really no easy explanaition for that thing. I guess that no matter how hard we try and no matter how close we are to our target/aim ni life, no matter have we achieve it or we still chase it, bad things happen to us and will continue happen, maybe because that's the way how the nature acts.
Because bad things can't actually happen only to people with no luck or people who are actually not that good in their job or private life, just because it would be unfair, don't you agree!?
I guess that this are just common nature things, with which the nature tries to keep the balance, just like it keeps the balance among the wild animals and the plants- some are stronger and better and they eat and hunt the weaker ones, but there are some other factors like weather and area, which actually take control of the hunters, and that's the way how the nature keeps the balance.
Maybe that's the same case with the people- bad things can't actually happen only to bad/sad/poor people, to people with no luck or people who are not that good. Yeah, it is really unpleasant when some bad thing happens to us, but we must face it with the head up and try to make over it, because that's the way how the strong people do my friend
hope that only good things will happen to all of us here on myLot and in normal life too

I've wondered about the same thing myself, when I was younger and was having a hard time. But then, I've realized that I was only focusing on the bad things all the time, everyday is a blessing that we should all be grateful about. We shouldn't waste our time worrying about these things, we should just learn to accept whatever comes our way.
To be honest, I almost drove myself crazy thinking about my problems, what to do with my life, I was never contented. Try loosening up a bit, relax and enjoy yourself. A member of my family had cancer. You know what she did? She turned to God, she never really believed in God, but after what she went through, He was the only one she could really depend to. Your faith will heal you. If you want to get well, you should start thinking positive thoughts, and you will see...everything will be okay, somehow.
Smile and always think that everything will be okay. Try to look at the bright side of things, by getting sick you will come to realize the things that you had neglected to see before, it'll open your eyes. It's okay to be scared. Everyone is scared of something anyways (they just don't want to admit it).
If things are really looking way too bleak for you, maybe you should try to seek the help of a professional,(being a constant worrywart myself), a little pharmaceuticals won't hurt. ; ) Talk to someone (real flesh and blood, and not some words on your screen kind of thing) , cry, scream, do whatever it is to help ease the pain inside.

Thank you opal, for the warm welcome! I meant no offense to anyone with regards to that thing I said about "talking to someone real". I myself am looking for that kind of friendship online. Sometimes they are very hard to come by. You're very lucky to be able to find friends here that can really help you through difficult times.
I just meant that the consolation you get from REAL people (the touch, the warmth of an embrace, etc), well that is different. I can't hug my pc, it doesn't quite fit right especially around my neck area. Hopefully, I'll get lucky this time.
I know everything will work out okay for you,Opal. Being surrounded with friends who love you in the real world and in here, that kind of support is something.

I say you really, really need to learn about the Law of Attraction. I am not kidding, it is life changing once you learn about this universal law that is always governing over all of us, all things. You get what you think about and how you are feeling. We are all vibrational, so whatever your vibration is at is what you will attract.
If someone is always talking about sickness or health problems-they are sick or have a lot of health problems.
By deliberately changing my thoughts and feelings on so many different topics I have literally turned my life around. I would strongly recommend the book, The Law of Attraction by Ester and Jerry Hicks as a start and if it fits they have an endless supply of materials to help you learn this.
I have gone from being very ill and endless suffering with spinal injuries to now feeling great, pain free, able to eliminate several medications, lower my BP, get off anti-depressants, stop all nerve blocks and other injections for pain, I am now active, happy and feeling better than I have in years. Whatever health problem one has can be eliminated, no exceptions.
My finances get better and better, in the last month I have dropped 9 lbs and over 2 inches in my waist..the only thing I did was learn about this, change the way I was thinking and feeling and it just keeps getting better and better.
The Law of Attraction works whether you know it does or not, so by knowing how it works and learning how to make things work for you, you can become a deliberate creator of your life experience.
I write this only because I love teaching others what I know because it really does work, its real, it is a univeral law so why not get it to work the way you want. Best of luck to you, I hope this helps. I can guarentee that once you learn this, your life will never be the same. Life is suppose to be fun!

I don't understand why God punish good people. Your sufferings might not be a fault of yours but it could be some ancestral sins that has not been cleared and you are paying for their pass sins. In our culture we strongly believe that if unceasing bad omens like illness or misfortune in the family, there must be unhealed sins from the past that needs to be healed to clear the bad vibes. So we can't blame God for all the happenings in our life. What you can do is to pray to ask for God's forgiveness and to lighten up your sufferings. "God please bring some good out of this bad situation" is one of the most powerful prayers in the universe. And one that God always says yes to but it's also one of the toughest to pray. The reason is that when we're right in the midst of suffering, it's very hard to calmly consider all the wonderful things that might lie in store for us in the future. After all, the future is always so unclear and hazy, while the pain we're experiencing in the present moment is so sharp and unmistakable.

Like I said it is based on some cultural beliefs. Say if my great grandparents did something very bad during their time, their sins have deep bearing on me or any of my siblings. What we usually do in cases like this is to go for family tree healing that is usually conducted in church.

Yes, I know what you mean. Life is a bit of a roller-coaster that way. One day we are up, the next day we are down. This happens to everyone - at least everyone I know. As a Zen practitioner, I find it best to go with the flow, as in Zen, if something is resisted, it will make it worse, so best to accept whatever comes my way the lows and the highs - it is the way life is. _Derek

Zen logical? It is anything but logical. It aims to get beyond the mind's rational thinking. Students are often asked to meditate on question such as, "what is the sound of one hand clapping?" It is full of paradox and doesn't recognize reason such as right and wrong, good and bad... it is beyond all that and the mind can simply not fathom it out. We sit in zazen (Zen meditation) just stilling the mind by focusing on the breath to the exclusion of all else. It is extremely illogical and develops the Self (or soul) of the person that is beyond reason and logic. So I think you would find yourself quite at home like me, you tend to think without logic! If you want to more, there is a link to my Zen blog an Zen meditation on my profile, or you can message me also if you wish. _Derek

I have been there more than once and the help comes from the Lord. He will never leave you. Sometimes people leave Him but He never will leave you if you call upon Him. Ask in Jesus Name it is important to ask in your prayers "in Jesus Name" because He said in His name with believe and faith to do so. Also to praise "as if it is done" be thankful it is sealed by Amen. Believe it says seek ye first the kingdom the rest will follow. You have not because you ask not or you ask a mistake. The JOY of the Lord is your strength. Jeremiah 3:33
The more we seek the more we know. The WORD feeds the spirit as if food the body. The more Word for healing read healing scriptures, for other things read. There is power in Praise, the NAME "Jesus " even the devils trimble by hearing that name. Jesus . Love is strong and Speak the WORD "the Bible" over your problem and rejoice and Praise God for the answer and what He has done and will do for you. You will know..also you can call upon the elders of the church to anoint you with oil and lay hands upon you to in prayer.

Hi there, I hope you're on your way to getting better :) I understand what you feel, especially since the later part of January I've been feeling down in the dumps as well. It remained that way until even last week. I try to be nice to others, I try to finish my projects on time, I try to do my best all the time but everything just seems to have this negative effect I can't get rid of. I often thought that good people have it harder because they are always presented with challenges that will try their strength and principles. Maybe our lesson is how we should deal with such circumstances despite being unfortunate. I hope you have a great day!

still should always try to be the best person that we can! I
have always been there for anyone that needed me and did so
even when I caught crap for doing it! And would do it again!
Thanks for your positive thoughts!

My dear Opal. You know what i always do with that damn stupid dark coud? I take the hosepipe to it. Just be your own good self every singe day. Believe in yourself and make the best of everything you do. Better than that we cannot do in life. I know you will get rid of that cloud. You can always sell it, you know. Have an awesome day. TATA.
