These days most of us have many responsiblities and other people that depend on us and many times we get lost in taking care of day to day life. Do you find time to take care of youself, be it a few minutes of your favorite book, meditating, playing a sport etc? I am busier that I know how to be most days but one thing I do for myself that seems to keep me centered is taking a bath and doing some reading while I soak. It's my own little piece of heaven! Usually only 30 minutes of me time but it makes a huge diffference to me. Do you do that? Make time to take care of yourself before others even for a short bit of time?

yES - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME AND i MAKE SOME TIME FOR ME.
Working whole day and getting tired and being busy with many activities in the day we do not find any relaxation, hence I planned a couple of years to have my own time.Daily after the supper I have my mobile with me and go for a walk - and this is my time.
I think for my personal development and also other activities where I have to improve.Sit at a quiet place enjoy 10 songs which takes around half an hour.So totally the time take for me is around one hour. I come back and have a good sleep. This is my regular routine. I will not entertain any friends with me as it is my time.

Good for you!! I also finding listening to music to be very relaxing. And having a bedtime routine likely helps your body and mind unwind and be ready for sleep.

last week I had lot of time which I could spend with me only. I am at Chicago and no friend circle, work not started yet so nothing to do. I again started going to Gym, doing meditation, reading the books I always wanted to read. hope I will find time for me in coming days which seems to be busy days.

I love Chicago!! A company that I worked for had their main office based in the Sears tower andI used to travel there at least once every 3 or 4 months. Such friendly people, I am sure you will make friends soon. And how lucky to be all settled in with some time to yourself before you start a new job! Good Luck and thanks for sharing!

I always want to have that time for myself, but the only time that happens is when I am sleeping someone always wants me for something whether it is to get them something or to help them out with something or just some advice or something like that so I try to find a few minutes to relax maybe play a game by myself or something just to take my mind off of the day, but it is always hard to find that as you say me time, but if you can take those precious few minutes for yourself to relax no matter how little it is to decompress a little it is always nice when you can do that even though it happens not that often.

Ah...how well I can relate~! I used to be alot like you in that I always had people asking or expecting things from me from the time I got up til I was ready for sleep. But as I got older I realized that I was feeling somewhat resentful so that is when I started making sure I had even 30 minutes to myself every day. It really is invaluable to me and I am sure my friends and family would likely agree. Thanks for sharing and be well!!

I do not think the majority of us take the time for ourselves. Family responsib ilities get in the way of our selfish needs. Taking time for yourself is important and should not be pushed aside. Make a little extra effort to make yourself happy. It will be worth it.

Yeah..! I do have " ME DAY " my husband will take care of our baby during the day while I do things I really like to do. But everything I need to do inside the house like cleaning, laundry, grocery..it's all done all he has to do is take care the baby..you need to give time for yourself or else you will get sick and tired and feeling lousy..!

Unfortunately I can't remember when was the last time I took a moment for myself. We are living in another state away from all of our family because my husband was stationed here during his time in the Navy. I am a fulltime college student and also work fulltime for the Courts. We have three children 6yrs, 3yrs, and 7 months old. My husband also works the night shift along with being a fulltime student. All we do it go to bed together guring the week because of our schedules. Our weekends are family time, cleaning and studying. It gets hard and overwhelming at times, but i just look at the bigger picture of what will come of all this work and time spent. Maybe one day I can fit in a quick momment for myself, but I don;t see it happenng in the near future.

I usually try to make the weekend all about me. I do everything I can during the five day work week, with the reward of being free later on in the back of my head. It works well for the most part. I get derailed when I don't have a reminder of why I'm expending so much energy during the week though.
Who ever invented post-it's was a genius.

All I need is a bed and quiet surrounding or something to read, movies to watch and I've acquired a sense of peace. I know that I can't have all the time I need to relax but I'm more bored when I do nothing. As we live in a rural place it is easy to stay connected with nature and the animals that live nearby occasionally go to our house that it feels like a zoo. I just like it.

yes, me time is very important; it keeps me sane. we all have to take care of ourselves in order to be able to take care of others. i take early morning walks and it helps prepare me to take on the day's responsibilities.

Yup, somtimes I do take time to myself when I have free time.Usually I do my stuff and play PSP games and take rest and eat what I want and Like. It's nice to have time for yourself and do things that you want to do freely. You'll find out that it enjoy it for your self like what I feel when I have time to myself.
