This is a pretty sensitive topic. I'm not even sure what kind of responses I will get. I probably would be extremely depressed and wonder how and why it happened.
I'll speak from my dad's experience:
My dad had a best friend that he hung out with all the time in the Philippines. My dad was of the middle-rich class in the Philippines, while his friend was a street urchin. My dad would always sneak food out from his family's kitchen and give his best friend's family rice and such. He and his best friend made a promise to each other that the first person who dies needs to carry each other's coffin.
One day, while my dad was at home or on vacation he heard that his friend got bit by a wild dog and caught rabies. His friend died only after a couple of days, as medicine was scarce in that day, as well as expensive. My dad indeed carried his friend's coffin.
My dad went through depression and turned to gangs(Sputnik) and heavy drinking. He hung out in the ghetto and turned to the dark side. My dad even claims that his friend even visited him once in his bed as a ghost and my dad hid under the sheets.
My dad ended up coming to the States and abandoning college, as he went to seek opportunities in America. Later on my dad developed many health problems due to his previous heavy drinking habit, which I believe he developed from losing his friend.
Everyone's takes death in a different way, as it is one of the most difficult things to go through. God Bless all those who have passed before us and their families and friends who continue to pray for them.
What would you do??

I lost my best friend (from time we where 4) at the age of 12. It effected me greatly. For many years I was scared to become close friends with new people because I had a fear of losing them. At seventeen (illegal I know) I got a tattoo with her initials and that did help me with my healing. I was very young and that kept me out of some trouble but it also caused other issues as I just didn't have what was needed to deal with the loss and many at the time didn't feel as though us kids needed help just that we where young enough to forget and move on.
