I consider Monday is the first day of the week.If Monday comes every one eager to wait for Sunday. So, I feel if Ist day comes, the last day will come to make us to take rest. This may be the reason I consider Monday Ist day of the week.Happy myLottting.

yeah..the same thing to me..I get rest during Saturday and Sunday and start working from Monday to Friday, so in my opinion, the 1st working day of a week is the 1st day of the week..

Hi siliguri ..Sunday is referred as the 1st day of the week usually . But since it is a holiday . People consider the first working day that is Monday as the first working day. The books in which Monday was referred as the first day of the week is wrong . I totally disagree that fact . Happy mylotting and have a nice day !

Hey siliguri! I think that technically the first day of the
week is Sunday! I don't know why, but that's the way it is!
For most people who work, the first day to them is Monday! I
know that is what it was for me! I believed that Saturday and
Sunday were the weekend and didn't count!lol But, according to
everyone and the calendar Sunday is the first day of the week
so I guess we will just have to take their word for it!

Sunday, of course. But in Europe, they tend to use Monday as the first day in their calendar.
By the way, there shouldn't be any confusion about the sequence if you are familiar with the Jewish Sabbath, which is Saturday. And this is the 7th day according to the Jews.

well..sunday is really the first day of the week..somehow they intend to say that monday is the first day because people usually started to work on this day..and also they intend to say that sunday belongs to the weekend days because people usually don't have their work on that day..and for me..maybe they say that sunday is the last beacause many catholics treats this day as sabbath day on which people go to churches and give time for God.. :))

i would say sunday is the first day of the week though in most cases monday is considered the first day. it depends on the religious belief of the person,,the Jews consider the last day of the week to be saturday -- Sabbath,,,while xtians have sabbath on sunday....i vote for Sunday as the first day of the week since Jewish is older

I have no clue as to what is classed as the first day of the week, but in my mind for me it will always be Monday... the reason for that is because it's when my new week starts, when work starts, and when my son goes back to school after a weekend off. It may seem silly but that is how I look at it... the weekend I class as Saturday and Sunday, because they are my doing nothing much days, no work, no school trips, and I can do what I like, and go out with my kids and have fun.
