What's your favorite computer store in the Philippines?

I must admit that I am a gizmo addict. I subscribe to tech blogs like Gizmodo and Engadget just so I can have sneak previews of the latest gadgets firsthand, even if I know that it will take me years to afford them. Each time I go to a mall the first place I go to is the computer section, just to ogle at the latest computers and computer gadgets. Sometimes I actually go inside just to question and pester the sales reps :p I am in the process of buying a new laptop to replace my 5-year-old Vaio. Since it's my first big purchase from my hard-earned cash (my first laptop was a gift), I'd like to make sure I get good value for money. It's actually my obsession for the past few days...I even ended up compiling a list of all the Philippine computer stores I've encountered online during my search for the right laptop (I'm not sure I can post the link of the article here, but it can be seen in my personal blog, which has a link on my MyLot profile page). What's your favorite computer store? I make it a point to visit CDR King for accessories and media... but I'm still undecided as to what store offers the best value for money as well as service and support when it comes to buying laptops or desktop computers. Any advice? Thanks!

I also like CDR-King because they sell affordable accessories. Here in our place, I bought my PC at Thinkingtools because they are also a few peso lower in price compared to other computer shops.

Thanks for the heads up. I checked up their site, and yes it was cheaper compared to other stores. I'm going to Cebu next week, I'll check out their store there..

If you're asking in terms of brand name, from what I've read Apple and Toshiba seems to be the most reliable... but they're quite expensive compared to other brands. Right now I'm looking into Acer and Gateway laptops...haven't made up my mind yet on the model, though.

I use to browse in PCbodega it's online. Anyway I really don't know what stores are available in your city that is also available here in Cebu. But what I usually do. I get a brochure from a store, let say, octagon; and what I normally do is go to the store of that particular brand. Like for instance go to NEO or Lenovo. Something like that... I hope it helps

Ooohhh.. I never thought of going to the brand stores. I'm not sure if all brands have their own stores though... will have to look into that. Thanks!

When we started a small business in our province, we bought our equipments from Thinkingtools. We bought our printers and computers there. When we do have some problems with our computers, then we send it to them for repair too. However, when it comes to accessories and media, we used to get it from CDR King too, especially when it comes to CD,DVD and photo papers. Prices are much lesser when it comes to those with CDR.

I don't know either. Maybe they want the people to know that they are selling products that would make you think.LOL!

After looking around at the Thinkingtools website, I found myself staring at their store logo. Which got me started on a laugh trip... I wonder why they named their store that way?

Justdroppingby, it's not all about your favourite shop or store, it's all about getting a very good system (Laptop)

Justdroppingby, i understand what you are saying now more and it gets to that stage where you now have to look for stores who offer after sales support not only bundles, be careful just an advice from shynepapin

I agree with you in that. After finding/deciding on the right laptop though, I think that a good store choice is also valuable so that you can get more discounts, or get stuff/software bundled up, or get better service and support... it's only secondary to choosing the right laptop, but it also helps, right?
