Do you design for Internet Explorer 6?

Hi fellow mylotters, I have one question for you: Do you still design for Internet Explorer 6? I'm thinking about that because today I was designing this site at work for one of our branches. At work we don't design websites and we don't have a designer for that, I was designing it because I'm the server admin and also have some html+css skills... well the thing is that I designed the site and It was ready to be published when I check the site on Internet Explorer 6 and it was just awful, so after spending several hours with the sites design I had to spend a few more just fixing all the Internet Explorer troubles. The site looked fine on explorer 7, 8, firefox 3.5 and google chrome, but I just couln't make it look all nice on explorer 6... Having said that I must tell you that I'm thinking on designing just for explorer 7 and up and just don't look back to Internet Explorer 6. What do you think? Do you have to face the same problem when designing a new site?
