What has happened to music today? Used to be you could tell the difference between rock and country. Today those lines have been blurred. I don't know what I am listening to most of the time. I miss the time when rock was rock and country was something that my parents listened to.I don't think that anyone really knows any more.

Yeah you're right. What I can't accept nowadays is pop singers like Kelly Clarkson, Britney and Rihanna sing rock songs even though the lyrics are obviously simple, straight forward pop lyrics. I think they call it Pop Rock. Same goes to country music. They're now called Country Pop. I've been listening to rock since young and still am.I don't listen to pop songs as they're a bit kiddish (no offense, everyone). Now I'm getting older and mature listen more to Post-rock. Still rock music.

Think it's just a sign of the times. Feels like most of the creativity has been used and the boxes filled. So now you get crossovers and blendings, trying to find some new sound or get new/more fans.
Might also come from 'the market' being flooded with artists, creating and re-using everything. I know it's a bit of a negative view, but usually it feels that way to me. Happy MyLotting
