Hi there amelly! I also love arts and crafts, and cross stitching was my favorite hobby before. I've done 2 so far but the 1st one ive done wayback 1995 was not yet finished up to this date. The title of the design i made was "Queen Anne's Lace". It was big and the background was told in a garden that's why it's so pretty and required me to put some beads into it as well. Problem was that, i lost the pattern already, im planning to buy the pattern soon it's just that im so busy with my work. HAve a nice day!

I wonder how come people have to put an age on being creative. I was teaching my grand daughters how to knit and their father told them that it was an old lady craft. Needless to say the girls decided that they didn't want to learn how to knit. It was the same way with teaching them to sew...their father didn't want them to learn because he was worried that they would get a needle in their finger. I started crafting when I was three years old. I was sewing by the time I was 12 and was making all my clothes and then my daughters clothing. I do photography, crocheting, knitting, sewing, water and oil painting, cross stitch, needlepoint and whatever other craft interests me. I never was told that a craft too old for me or that I was too young to do it. It removed the restrictions and allowed me to expand my horizons. I currently design and make teddy bears and have a ball doing it. I will hand dye the fabrics, search thrift stores and yard sales for unusual fabrics to dress the bears and even sell my creations. I have a ball doing the bears and am looking forward to my break from college so that I can make more bears.

I was into cross stitching when I was in College and I have the time to do it, but when I started to work, I already left cross stitching because I don't have the time to it although I have done a lot of stitches from book markers with names of people I gave my work, then I have cartoon characters such as Bugs bunny, Tweety bird and Silvester. I also like floral designs and some victorian lady with floral designs. Now I wanted to start back with my cross stitching but I cannot find the materials I need when I was in India. I don't know if I can go back to my hobby because I really needed time to do all that since I am also working online and working offline. If I wanted to start anew, i would like to try on scenery and good landscapes. I also wanted to try on angels with glitters and added stitching accessories to it. Happy Mylotting.

hi amelly, I have read an article that doing activities like cross stitching has many beneficial effects for a person body. It helps the person to relieve stress, gives a good blood circulation in the body and an alternate form of exercise and creativity is the big part of it.. I admire your skill and the creativity you got by being patient enough making those beautiful works, and a milestone already. For not all people, have that patience for making such.. I am pretty sure how proud you are and those people around after seeing your hard work. They will be able to realize how you gave appreciation in that art. Best wishes and happy mylotting..

I have tried doing a cross stitch of an angel before and now it is in our living room. It took me very long for me to finish the entire pattern as it was huge but it was all worth it in the end.

I used to love doing cross-stitch. In the past I've made pictures, for framing, as well as other projects. One year it was Christmas stockings lol. I haven't done much with it the past few years (r. arthritis makes it too hard anymore.) I no longer go for the bigger ones, now it's mostly little ones like for tree ornament gifts and stuff like that. You're right,it does take more concentration and effort, but that keeps it interesting!

yes..it does need a lot of patience too because although the size of it is small,it may needs lot of colour and the design might be difficult.but it is worth it at the end and it make me feel satisfied.

I've been doing cross stitch since I was about the same age you had when you started, 12 years old. i still love it, alhough I don't have much time, with two kids and my own business to take care of. But when I'm on vacation I will try to get something done. It's nice to create something as a gift for someone. Especially baby gifts or wedding gifts are special if made by yourself. Have a great day

Hello amelly, When it comes to crafts I can't control myself. I love cross-stitching and have done many projects with it. I've made picture frames and 8x10 pictures and framed them and given them away as gifts whether it be for someone's birthday or christmas or whatever. I have learned not to begin a craft project unless I'm finished the last one I've started because it can be overwhelming sometimes to have too many started. I do all kinds of crafts such as cross stitching, crocheting blankets, knitting, weaving, scrapbooking, and a few other things. It's usually around falltime or winter is when I pull out the crocheting. Have a nice day

I enjoy cross stitching as well. It is a very relaxing thing to sit back and do. I learned when I was about thirteen or fourteen. My big sister tought me. I have done no more then ten pieces since then. I haven't been able to sit down though in a while and do one due to being soo busy. Between work, taking care of a three year old, and dealing with another pregnancy my time is well spent. LOL! But the most funnest project I ever did is when I created my own layout and just went with it.

Congrats on your cross stitching project! I love crafts so much. I have made lots of projects like baskets made from wood, newspaper, fashion accessories and many others but I haven't tried cross stiching coz I can hardly see those little pores on the cloth where you do the stitching. I appreciate cross stitch jobs a lot.

I taught myself to needle point out of a magazine in the early 1970's while I was in college. I picked up a couple of little cross stitch kits in the mid-1980's and learned that craft. Then I learned about waste canvas and now I like to stitch on clothing. I have learned I can't do big projects, but I do little ones on clothing and give them as Christmas gifts and people love them

I think cross sritching is a fun hobby. You can make some meorable works if you put your mind to it. I prefer the stamped cross stitch over the counted version. It's so much easier to handle.

I like cross stitching too. I did easy ones (those that cost around 20 pesos then they have a drawing on the cloth) I really enjoyed it. I tried buying cross stich patterns but they were way too expensive for me.
