I have learned trusting God is like trusting anyone, your friends, spouse, family. You have to mantain a relationship. Make them a priority in your life, in this case the first priority. Make God the start of your day, waking up and praying, or having a time set aside for devotionals. I myself have felt the way you feel and I get back on track, going to church to worship, praying every day and night, bible study, I notice when I stop doing these things I lose some trust, like would if have not talked to a friend for a long time, the comfort is gone. So my answer is build a relationship!!

I think what any of us need to do is to get into God's word and meditate on it day and night. We must also realize that Satan is going to attack us; but if we resist the devil, he will flee from us.

Most of what was said on how you can trust yourself to God was well said. However, I would like to recommend two other suggestions that have increased my faith and relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ. There is one person who touched on this one, briefly, but like to take it just a step further. It is about asking the Holy Spirit to dwell in your temple daily. I found out that we can personally ask the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit to be present in our temples daily, which is our bodies. Of course, it is certainly important to have the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, but this doesn't mean you speak in tongues daily. Having the Holy Spirit present in us daily, He warns, guides and protects us from doing anything to harm us and our relationship with God, by helping us to resist any appearance of evil.
Secondly, I encourage you to read Ephesians 6:10-20. This passage talks about putting on the whole armor of God so we can withstand no matter what comes our way.
Because "greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world."
It's not silly to actually put on the whole armor of God. I use to think litterally putting anything into action that is mentioned in God's word was quite silly. But ever since I heard about grown adults who love the Lord so much litterally put God's word into action had a strong inpact on their lives. So I started to do the same not too long ago, and I have been a Christian for many years, and taking God's word into action daily it has indeed made a difference.
So I pray that you are encourage to do the same. May God bless you in your walk with Him.

It's good you are feeling this way. Something is telling you that you need God's help. We all need to admit we are just not smart enough to run our own lives. When I look back I have no problem seeing just how good I was at running my life. My life was in such a mess it wasn't worth living. You also need to realize that God already knows that none of us are perfect and from time to time we are going to do things we shouldn't. There is only one way to ever overcome this and that is through God's personal teaching by way of the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Man simply doesn't have the information we need to get our lives where they need to go. Concentrate on the Anointing, It's the key to everything.

Trusting yourself to God is believing-- completely entrusting your being to Him. It may seem hard at first. But think of it this way... If you think God is a mean, harsh master whose ways are difficult and impossible, it would be very hard to submit to Him. Why would you want to give control of your life over to someone like that? But think of being in love with someone. If they love you so much that they would do anything for you, wouldn't you want to do what they asked you just because you love them so much and they love you?
I think the trouble with trusting God completely comes from not really knowing how much He loves us. Find Scriptures in the Bible that show you how much He loves you. Romans 8 (near the end of the chapter) says that since God loved us so much that He gave us Jesus, how will He not much more give us all things? Jesus loves us so much He would give us anything (except what is bad for us). He has already proven that He would do anything for us (by Jesus dying to save us from hell).
Realizing how much God loves you and wants to protect you from evil will help you resist evil. God doesn't want to keep anything from you. The only reason He tells us not to do something is to protect us from harm.
So I think the best thing to do to trust yourself to God would be to open your Bible and find every Scripture you can about how much God loves you and what He did for you and what He promises you. Study them and memorize them-- get them into your heart. And it will be easy to trust yourself to someone who loves you more than any human could ever dream and who wants to give you the world... and heaven too!

As I was told, just focus on Jesus Christ. That's what I am trying to do. It's not a walk in the park but we have to trust in the Lord, to be obedient and to walk with Him everyday. I have known Jesus Christ in 2001 and accepted him as my Lord and Savior when I was abroad. When I came back home, that's when my struggles began. I guess in our small community back then, I was the only Christian, even in our family. I didn't have a church nor anyone to have a fellowship with, so for a baby Christian like I was, I backslid, to make the long story short. After so many years, I was reacquainted with Jesus. I asked and prayed for a church that's near my house, and after a few months I was given one. Just a week and a half ago, I renewed my faith in Him and was baptized. Now, I can say that I truly belong in the House of God. It's still a struggle to live day by day in a world full of temptations, but if God is with us, then who can be against us? Hold on tight to your faith and again, focus on Jesus. Talk to Him everyday and cast your burdens upon Him and He will give you rest. God bless you!

Feel free to pray to God and to ask him for help. Talk to him any time you feel necessary. Trust him and try to follow Jesus. Read the Bible every day and try to learn all you can. Never desist trying to be a good cristian. But you also have to understand that nobody (human persons) is perfect, only God and Jesus are perfect, so they are the only ones able to help you and to forgive you whenever you are doing wrong. God knows that's difficult for us to resist evil and He never allows to charge you on more than you're able to resist!

It's all in a Attitude. Just be yourself. As long as you're not hurting anybody, it doesn't matter what you're doing just go on and enjoy your life. We are free to do whatever we want to in this world, but ofcourse you have to look for the people whom you care, if you didn't make them cry bcoz of those what you call ''wrongdoings''And don't forget to give thank's to the Highest above.
