It's a hot topic in China nowadays whether to stick to the family-planning policy. As we all know, China has a very big population and if we don't do anything to alter the situation, there will be a lot of troubles. The population can be controlled by this policy, but it also brings a lot of other problem to the society, such as the protection of human rights and the population aging situation. So I think it's really difficult to make a decision. I want to know your opinions.

I think there are no easy answers to over population in general. Relocation won't work, because it's hard to force someone to leave their home. Even if you say it's for the good of the majority, that answer still won't cut it with most people. If only there was some way to outsource China, and expand some sort of sub division of it to another location.

I think they should follow the policy. This policy was not approved just because it sounds right. This policy had been thought out very hard by officials that's why it has been implemented and the population is growing tremendously so i think they should follow it. :)

morningchenguang, I feel every country will need to implement family planning policies as and when it is required and China is no exception. Family planning is necessary when there is going to be population problems like over or under populating where it will bring about other social or economic problems. However, these measures can never be permanently implemented and would have to be lifted when the numbers reached an optimum level. Like China, she is already lifting the one child one family policy and are coming about with a more lax attitude and measure. I think they are doing and coping well, so far.

i think we need some radical solutions here with the population issue. there needs to be some thinking outside the box. maybe like if citizens of china would agree to go to paradise areas on earth with low populations for free to live in order to control rising populations it could possibly work. however, many paradise areas with low population would need to be used in order to evenly spread people out. also for people who really like to eat and agree to being given free food than over time weight would pack on and slow people down therefore lowering the increase in population over time. also maybe familes who are struggling financially could be given financial help for agreeing not to have kids.

Then, what about the population aging situation? I think it's the most serious problem caused by family planning policy and I have no idea about how to solve this problem.

the big problem in china is that the human rights don't exist at all!!In your opinion a country population must be controlled by different policies?mmh..it sounds not good to me!!China government is a dictatorship and they try to censure all is not in line with the government guidelines and thoughts..so i think this is bad for chinese people too!!

Frankly speaking, as a Chinese, I don't think it's good policy. I mean we should do something to control population growth, but this policy is like braking suddenly when the car is running at high speed. As you said, now aging problem is aggravating dramatically. And in another word, many educated people in coastal cities don't want to have more babies, even if you allow them do this. But many people in middle-west area are still bearing more and more children. It's common for families there have at least two children or more. I think the better way is to make more people educated and change their minds.

I think they China is movies in right direction.China have problem of huge population and encouraging people to not to have more than one kid is the solution. That will reduce many problems including unemployment. They should go forward with it.

Its correct that China is having huge population increasing day by day. However due to this policy, china has more of aging population as compared to India which is creating huge problems. Thus there is a need for some out of the box thinking which will serve multiple purposes.
