Recently one of my coworkers suprised me by leavning an envelope with my name on it at work. When I seen the envelope it had homemade dog treats in a zip lock bag attached to it with tape. When I opened it there was a beautiful Thank You card and inside the card was a ten dollar Tim Horton's card! And why did I receive this? Well in the last week or two I found out that she was trying to get hired for homecare doing the same work as we do at our present workplace. My mom has worked for homecare for over thirty years and is a well known good reputational nurse. I spoke to her about my coworker and my mom told me that my coworker could use my mom's name when she went to apply at homecare. My coworker ended up getting a job there and she was ever so greatful for this. It was a nice suprise and I didn't realize that I had done anything that I would have to go out of my way to do. Have you ever received something nice for doing a person a favor in return? What was it please share your story

It sure is nice and I will never forget that either. I told her she didn't have to do that and she disagreed so I just thanked her and enjoyed free coffee for the rest of the week

That would be grateful to know that you are helping your co workers. I've helped one of my friend to be hired in our company. She has done lots of mistakes. I told her to submit a resume, she only send a picture in our company email add without the resume. So I need to provide our HR manager her contact numbers for interview. She arrived for the interview and provide her resume. Then now our HR Manager trying to contact her for final interview her contact number in the resume is incorrect so I need to provide again her contact number. Luckily she was hire in our company. But I did not receive any thank you card from her. Instead in every favor I asked from her she will do it immediately. So I guess that's how thankful she is.

hi nixxi76, That was a very wonderful experience of yours. I am sure your co-worker is very happy that maybe if not because of you, he might not get a work. It is because you refer him to a very good person that makes his application easier. You are such a helpful and kind-hearted fellow who gave happiness for your co-worker. He is very thankful of you that is why he gave you a card. I also experienced same situation. I helped my cousin to find a job and when she got it, it made her so happy. I am very happy for her too. That cousin is mine is not that fortunate when it comes to living and I am glad I did someone a help. After her first salary, she bought a gallon of ice cream for me...I was so happy when I received it because it is one of my favourite dessert.

Isnt it so refreshing to get these surprice appreciation tokens? The best of them would be the ones that you feel the sender really spent so much time in thinking waht to say thank you with. I have had the same experience lately. I had this neighbor for 2 years now. We never really said anything to each other despite the fact that we usually see each other when we go out of our homes. Just recently, there was an incident infront of their home. They were harrassed by a friend who has double crossed then in business. It happened at somewhere around midnight. I hapened to see all that transpired since their house is right smack in front of mine. The next morning, i knocked at their front door and said that i got everything on tapeand that if they need help when they go to complain, I would be willing to. Turns out that they had no one to vouch for what happened and that I was a key witness. the rest is history.. We became good friends after realizing that we had a lot in common. One time, i was in desperation because I did not know where to get milk to feed my 2 children. i am a single mom and i try hard to make ends meet but it's just sometimes so hard. That evening someone knocked at my door. It was the son of my neighbor who brought a big can of milk and some noodles for my children. I was overwhelmed with tears. Apparently she saw me one time all puffy eyed from crying. She asked my 4 year old why i was crying..and my daughter said " because milk is no more. I never expected anything in return when i helped my neighbor. i just felt sorry for them at the time they were having trouble. That's my story..thanks for providing the venue forme to share it!

That's a great story! Thanks for sharing it. It is indeed very refreshing to know what someone will go out of their way just to thank me. I know how it is being a single mom I did that before and it wasn't easy. It's too bad you're not receiving any help besides this really nice neighbor of yours Thanks for your reply Happy Mylotting
