A Wall Street Journal analysis of 12 large financial services companies, including J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Goldman Sachs Group Inc. shows that they have collectively made $1.4 million in political donations, with 52% going to Republicans so far this year. That’s a reversal from last year, according to the most recent round of fund-raising reports covering January, February and March.

most major companies and organizations will donate to both parties with more going to the party they think will win. If you study the money that the Unions give you will find that most of it goes to the Democrats. What did it get them this past year? The stimulus money went ot schools and to state and local government to prevent layoff of Union Workers. The SEIU was a big supporter and they got Government run Health Care which they will organize the Health Care Workers. More power for them.

That's no surprise. They're betting on the winning horse. Last year, that was the democrats. This year, it's the republicans. There's really nothing more to it than that. They know that come November, there will be more republicans winning elections than democrats. As the story shows though, they're not stupid and still giving a hefty amount to democrats understanding that many will still keep their seats.
