Why London Police are called Bobbies?

And New York Police are called Cops? or Croppers? In your country, is there any special name for Police?

London Police are called "bobbies" after Sir Robert Peele, who started the police force there. I guess his nickname was Bobbie!

Ours are nicknamed the po-po or the pigs. i know pigs is not a nice name. But we have all heavy set cops here. So we joke that all they do is eat donuts and pull people over!!
