I know that many people obtain knowledge through reading books themselves.I intended to do so as well, but I found my reading ability so poor that I cannot fully understand the meanings of the contents also the speed I read is very low.I am desperately looking forward to promote my reading skill.

reading is a good hobit,if you will, you can learn much knowledge that you dont know, and some will be fairly useful for you.only you can do is to insist on them for a long time, and remain your motion at happiness moment to read it.as for reading skill,it is different confront with different people, like as you, just need to keep such interest, and you'll find out a adapt yourself way, believe yourself.good luck to you.

I recommend you to do not hurry with the reading. Do it slowly and concentrate in the text.Try to understand every word, make some efforts, then read it again. If you're thinking about other things try to eliminate them and concentrate in the text again. Then you'll see first you'll begin to understand the text clearly then you can try to promote the speed, but not fast.

The only thing I can really recommend is to read as much as possible. Like most things, your ability to read will get better with practice. If you keep at it then most times you'll find it easier over time. Try reading things that are a little more advanced that you're used to and look up any words that you're not sure about. Don't be afraid to ask questions or do searches if you need to and gradually improve to harder texts. You'll get there. I've been reading since I was about three. Before then, my mother read everything imaginable to me. I would bring her the morning paper when I was 2 and have her read that to me because I loved reading so much. My reading skills were always more advanced than most because I did it so frequently. Even now, I really enjoy reading and so I make sure to read at least a couple of pages every day, and some of the books are advanced and some are not. I also found that, like you, I was struggling reading French and Spanish. I took them both in high school and I was always so bad at writing and reading them, so I started practicing more and more. I've got all sorts of books in both languages and it got easier over time to read them. I picked up more vocabulary and started figuring out how to piece things together by context so that I didn't need to know what every little word meant and I could still get a lot out of the book. :) Good luck in your pursuit and I wish you the best!

You have to be interested on what your reading. If you are required to read it, take time or do something else while reading it to ease the boredom (i.e. watching tv while reading, playing games while reading) Hope this helps :p
