Is hard to say that I prefer one or another. Meeting friend in flesh is way better than online, but chatting has his own flavor and it's own meaning. Chatting is nothing more but a way to communicate, in the old days they used letters, then telegraph after then the telephones appears and then chatting ( Mirc, YM, Skype)but when chatting becomes an enemy of real meeting then we have a problem, when you rather talk to your friends (even if you use videophone or web-cam) then meeting them, it is time for you to cancel your internet connection and get out.

I think we can take some hours from chatting and put them in "doing something else" side (sport, reading, meeting with friends or just lazing around). It's more easy to open YM or Skype and chat then getting up from our chair and going out. Instead of spending 3 hours on PC we could spend 1 and half and rest of the time relaxing.
I'm 30 now and when I was a kid we didn't have anything else to do but going out to play, I feel sorry that many of today kids don't get out so much and just prefer to stay in front of computers. And i do believe that parents are to blame for this. If we as parents would be careful about how much time our kids spent in front of PC or TV and limit that time maybe next generation will be healthier not just smarter.

yes..again it is true.but chatting for like hours is not good.it has t own effect own your health and eyes.but truly seeing your friend in flesh is a lot better than u chat with them for hours.but again..we are busy n there is not much time even to relax your body a bit

Nothing comes close to meet friends up for dinner to relax and catch up with one another. We update one another, share our joys and setbacks, and encourage one another to move ahead with courage. This is not possible through online such as skype or facebook. But skype is the next closer thing to meet up in person if we are in different places. I have a group of friends who vowed to meet up once a year to catch up with one another. This keep the excitement going and I always look forward to the next meet up.

I prefer to meet my friends in person instead of chatting online, but some of my friends live in other parts of the countries and it is not always possible to meet in person. I think it is great that we are able to chat on messenger, talk on skype, exchange emails etc, and the internet has made communication easier in many ways, but if I have a choice I still think that it is more fun to meet in person.
Today one of my friends from another part of the country came to visit my husband and me, and we had a great time together. When we can't meet that often I enjoy it even more when we are finally together

everyone of my friends do have busy lives right now,but sometimes when we texted each other,we try to fix our schedules for us to meet.but now i don't think that was going to happen again.i don't have much more money to meet with them especially, they were living too far from me.at times we meet up at the malls, but now,it's just texting and calling or chatting and emailing happens!
it's really sad to be away from your friends, you don't have much time to bond with them.hopefully, soon we'll meet our paths again!

I prefer meeting up with them during the weekend where I have some free time during the night. We would go for a drink or two and talk about how things are. This would happen once in two weeks or so. Its really nice meeting up with friends and just talk, I prefer doing it face to face though rather than online.

I definitely like to catch up with my friends in person, even the ones that are in college far away from me. I just think its more fun to catch up and meet up face to face and its also more personal. I don't have a problem with chatting with friends online but I prefer to meet up in person so we can make memories doing fun things together.
