Radioactive iodine therapy

hello it's been a while.i was diagnosed with thyroid cancer since 1997 and had an operation in it. after ten years it reoccur and now i need to have an RAI or radioactive iodine therapy.does anybody nows what are the permanent side effect of this therapy?or anybody here have undergone this kind of therapy please let me know.thanks

well, i guess that there are a lot of
permanent side effects because it is a
radioactiave therapy which means
that you get some radiotion which is really
scary to me.
