Why do we always seem to put things off?

There are sometimes where I think we live in a society of procrastinators. People keep putting things off just one more day. Then another day they get put off. We seem to think that even though that time is there this day, we just cannot seem to bring ourselves to do it today. A small logical part of our minds are saying that we should do this now, we might not have the time to do it later. However, when later comes, find that we are way too busy.
I try to get everything done as soon as I can but I do admit that there are times where I fall into this trap. I mean, I should have learned by now but there are times where I slip up. Do you find that you keep putting things off, even though you really should have learned by now and should really know better? We all say, "Well, we can do that tomorrow." However, isn't today, yesterday's tomorrow? So what are your thoughts on this topic? I am looking forward to reading your responses.

we are all given 24 hours a day and it depends on us to prioritize our work to make our day productive, people who procrastinate may look busy but actually they are not fulfilling anything

Very, very, true. I would like to think that nine times out of ten, I am able to prioritize all of my work. Time management is really an area that many people are tripped up with. That was one of the first classes that I had when I started to attend college. I would like to think that I would be a lot worse off if I did not have those time management skills. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and contributed to the topic. Have a nice day.

Yes, that is a pretty good list of reasons why we put things off. If only we could overcome all of that all of the time. It is a lot easier than it sounds. Thank you for the response, it is very much appreciated. It contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day!

By nature, I guess people are lazy, however, our ambitions keep us from battling this recurring inherent disorder. But it's not always the case. Can you recall instances when you do things without being reminded by your list or scheduler installed on your computer, or persuaded by someone, instead you do things at one's accord?
There are things we don't want to do yet we still have to; thus we tend to drag ourselves and the result is putting things off. It's a hard habit to break, but if we at least try on a daily basis, may be someday we'll get things done earlier than as expected.

Yes, there are times where I am reminded by a note that I left by myself. I think people know they have to do these things for the most part. However, the hardest step is always the first one. They actually have to take that step to begin work on it. That tends to be the problem and thus people in general tend to keep putting off that all important first step. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed well to the topic. Have a nice day.

there's a good few things that I put off, only because it is something I REALLY REALLY don't want to do lol. but most things when I want it done I normally do it. my dad hates it because I make him get in on the help LMFAO

Yes, that always seems to be the case. It always seems to be the things that we really do not want to do. Then those are always the things that we wish we had just bitten the bullet and done immediately. Mostly because when they are done, we really wish we would have done it sooner. Thank you for your response. It was much appreciated and added to a topic. Have a nice day!

I also have same problem, I keep putting things off, I say to myself that "Keval, whole the day is there to complete it....Please rest yourself." But in that whole day I can't do anything, even I can't do it next day. I hate myself being so much lazy. But I keep try to overcome this, when my mind repeats above mentioned sentence I immediately do that particular task, sometimes I fail to do that, but most of the times I won. For instance I have go read some particular book today, but when my mind says "Keval, whole the day is there to complete it....Please rest yourself.". At that time I would stand up immediately and bring that book and start reading it. This is the my way to get rid of it.
