I used to like her more when she did songs like "La Tortura", Hips don't li, Whenever, wherever. of course she has evolved alot as an Artist over time, but I like her authentic music more and the ones she used to write, and have that special Shakira feeling to it, now they just seem more commercialized to me. Like "gypsy" and "She wolf", I'm not saying they're not good, I still like them. But I do miss it when she did songs like . I like the old Shakira better. Who feels the same?

Star, I agree that it can be good for artists to evolve over time and find new sides of themselves for everyone to enjoy (or not, depending on personal opinion). But I'm with Sofie in this case as far as the song quality goes. I definitely much prefer her older songs over the new, her more recent ones honestly seem to be catering to what people expect of popular music these days.

I have only heard shakiras Hips dont li and she wolf, when compared both the numbers I feel they dont make much of a difference. I mean both her old and new numbers are good.

Sofie, have you hear any of Shakira's older songs, before she started becoming internationally famous with Whenever, Wherever and the rest of the Laundry Service album? They are all in Spanish, but the style she made use of back then is MUCH more pleasant to listen to than She Wolf, for sure. -_- This is back when she still had usually straight black/red hair, before everyone was introduced to the blond, curly-haired Latina. If you're at all curious, try looking up Pies Descalzos or Donde Estan los Ladrones? on Youtube, both are older albums of hers.

Oh my, I did NOT like that "She Wolf" song! It seemed a little too .. radio-friendly for me. A little too hip hop and like she was trying to hard or something. *shrugs*. I was never a huge Shakira fan, but growing up I LOVED "Whenever, Wherever". It was an AMAZING song! I can tell the difference just between these two songs.

I'm right there with you on that, She Wolf is not a good song...and it's even a bit disturbing if you've watched the music video. :S Whenever, Wherever actually has special meaning to me, lots of memories conjured up, but I like the Spanish version of it (Suerte) as well. Have you heard it?

As far as I am concerned, I like her always. You know, she is so cool and I like the way she sings!
