Is OZONE harmful to lung tissues?

Ozone is a layer thats coveting the earth's atmosphere. Prvents us from the harmful UV sun rays. Now if this ozone layer is destroyed, then harmful rays enter through and causes skin problems. SO in case you live in an area where its been said that ozone has dispaperared you have to take preventive measures

I was told in a seminar that Ozone layers are harmful to lung tissues. Can anyone explain how.
