I don't know about people out there who don't have any problems with credit card applications (which is approved), but I still feel very curious. Why banks never tell you why they rejected your credit card applications. They always say that they don't know why. Even though I've sent tons of papers as a proof that I'm eligible enough to get it. Anyone here can help to enlighten me? Coz' it seems to me that my curiosity still get the best of me

hi donyun,
only certain bank are very strict. this is because the banker afraid that you are not able to pay back the money. This is what happen to our country malaysia. a lots of users having several cards (mostly of us have 5 to 6 cards) and they are simply spending without caring the amount they spend. once accumulate in a few months, the amount have reaches tremendously until more than 30K with their salary are not afford to pay back within a short range of time. This has actually causing the bankers very hard to get back their money from the users although charging the users some interest. This is may be some of the reason why your application may be rejected.
1st time user normally will be very hard to apply credit card for famous banks such as citibank.
this is just my opinion

Yes I guess that's true. Thanks for the thought jin_kamada. But I just want to use the credit card for more into managing into a better financial management by timing the payment of my bills and also urgent expenses. But from your example where lots of people just spend without realizing that what they have done is stacking up debts. So I realized that and not try to be like one of them. Thanks

I do not have a credit card and if banks try to give me one, I decline. I have three debit cards and I manage my finances with them. I do not have to carry loads of cash on me.

One of the main reasons for owning a credit card is the simple convenience of it. Rather than constantly having to carry around a significant amount of cash, the credit card allows a person to just carry a little piece of plastic without having to worry at all about cash. A dining experience can be quickr and easier with a credit card. It allows the restaurant to just scan the card, rather than having to get exact change, and makes tipping easier, because patrons can just add to the amount the restaurant charges. It can also simplify things at a situation. The credit card allows a user to pay for their gas right at the pump, without having to bother with going into the store.
