I prefer a big fat book of heavy subject preferably Psychology or Economics that works better than the best lullaby in the world. Just a few lines and I can hear myself snoring. What is your gadget for this purpose?

I never go to bed until I'm dropping and as soon as I touch the pillow I am asleep too. Maybe it's because I drinl a herbal tea made of lime flowers which I find very relaxing and soothing. If I took a book I would not even get past the cover I fear

Reading the lines, "Herbal tea made of lime flowers which I find very relaxing and soothing' itself makes me grope for my bed and cozy pillows. So comforting.

I like to read a bit before I go to bed. It helps me sleep better. But I love to read all the time. But reading also relaxes me enough to be able to fall asleep. Soft, light music also helps. But with little children at home, I don't think I need help in falling asleep. At the end of the day, I'm ready to plonk down even before the kids are ready to sleep.

Hi balasri, I will fall asleep fast as well if reading the sort of books you mentioned So if I really need some important info from book of economics I don't read it before bedtime for sure I'm unwilling to be left behind and far away from that useful knowledge. I prefer to listen to certain stories from my hubby if I really can't get into sleep. Yeah, he doesn't feel tired and bored to repeat the same old events he had experienced before which he feels proud of them. This seems like the best soothing lullaby to speed me into sweet dream. I don't know when he stops.......... Happy posting!

Hello Bala! I do not need to go for any particular book or any particular subject. On weekends, anything am reading will make me sleepy after say 10 minutes or so, because I need to compensate for sleep, which I miss during week days. Hope you are doing fine. Deepak

Reading an accounting book in bed would certainly send me to sleep rather quickly...Come to think of it, if I am in a nice, warm and comfortable bed any book or T.V. show will send me to sleep! We have a television in the bedroom and I have never been able to watch anything without falling into a deep slumber!

I know and can completely understand what you say as a person who’s stomach growls louder than a angry tiger in the middle of the night if not fed well. Eat well and take care my friend.

I always feel sleepy when I eat a heavy meal. I just lie on the sofa until I began to nod and have a small nap on the sofa. Putting on classical music also helps me to sleep and have a good feeling. If I engage in another activity such as reading or watching television I end up being more alert so I don't let these activities before sleeping.

I agree with you, reading while lying down on the bed will send us to our dreamland faster than any other means. I can't even complete one page when my eyelids start to become heavy.

It is either way for me.I have to read something in my bed.And at the same time the reading ultimately becomes my sleeping pill.

Hi Bala, Normally playing a game on my mobile, reading even being on the computer makes me sleepy and when my head hits the pillow I am 'gone'. The air say after being out for the day and walking also makes me tired, the rythm of a train and in the car many a times I have fallen asleep..guess its like being in a cradle...so many things make me tired and normally I have a good nights sleep..LoLo

Hi, Yes, things that I don't understand makes me quite sleepy, be it the lecture of some underrated faculty or a book that tries to turn your brain into ashes. Psychology or Economics are rather more tolerable than the company of a really dull person. A person who doesn't know how to laugh at your humor, always makes me sleepy. Interesting things, even if stressful, keeps me alert and awake. I often can't help yawning in front of a clueless lecturer in University. Thanks God bless you

The heat makes me sleepy, very sleepy, I get very lethargic and the intense heat and humidity makes my eyes heavy and I just want to curl up and sleep, I'd prefer to hibernate until the cold weather returns. I hate the Summer and I hate the heat and I start to slow down. So the gadget is free LOL, just add some heat and humidity and I am sleepy. Mornings also make me sleepy, I am more alert in the dark hours, maybe I am nocturnal but I can get so much work done at night time. Some films have been known to send me to sleep so if I suffer insomnia then I will put that particular film on LOL

I get nice and relaxed at night when I listen to the BBC World Service, not because it bores me, but because it relaxes me.

A soggy soap or some tainted movie or some old newspapers but the best gadget is the anticipated nightmare of the salty sweat, courtesy power failure. That would definitely make me fall asleep sooner.

I go for the nightmare. That is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. How is the power situation in Bangalore? (You know one thing I made a couple of visits to Bangalore in the last three months to attend a meeting with my client Logica.) Here I am one of the few luckiest ones who happens to live in the same avenue where the CM's house is.Power cut is unknown to me.Long love the CM.

hi balasri oh yes that would put me to sleep too but I haven't any text books available. I listen to Mozarts piano, flute and violin sonatas on my headphones from my computer and fall fast asleep quickly afterwards as they are very soothing to me. also I slather moisturizing lotion on my arms and legs as it has a very sleep inducing aroma and my skin is very dry so its serves two purposes.
