Camera tickets

For those that may not have this yet, it is something that Miami or actually Florida has passed that a camera can issue a ticket if you run a red light. This is ridiculous. There could be mitigating circumstances for this. This is going to generate a lot of revenue. Some states have banned while ours has embraced it. I would check where you live if I was you to see if any changes are coming or not since this was told by us from our water meter person. It was not advertised at all as of yet. By the time you are notified in the mail you could rack up quite a few tickets. Any thought? Welcome to Sunny Florida where you can get more than you bargained for, lol. This should spark up tourism for the state. It will definitely spark up income. http://www.thenewspaper.com/ http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Bills/billsdetail.aspx?BillId=42624

Today I heard about 290 sheriffs officer are going to be getting laid off in one county. Coincidence? This is going to be a mess in my opinion. I am hoping no one gets injured over it. People are going to be more cautious then before and maybe slam on breaks to avoid going through a yellow red light. I am finding myself slowing down in anticipation of a the light changing.

this has already been practiced in the major cities in my country since late the late 90s. i honestly think that the whole thing has turned into a farce right now. the tickets came in the beginning, but now it seems that those poles with a camera on them have become more ornamental than anything functional... looks like a big waste of taxpayers money. there's got to be other more creative ways at reprimanding errant motorists on the road...

Wow that is a long time.I am watching some of theses drivers slowing down when coming to a light, others were honking and screaming, it was too much. I decided to go back home and take the golf cart ,lol. Save me on gas, possible mail citations, and it only costs me about $10.00 a month in electricity to run versus $70.00 a week on gas for local running around, lol. I get about 70 miles to a full charge. There are always going to be mitigating circumstances, trees overhanging, bushes in the way, its a bit overpowering. a lot of people getting laid off because the cameras a can do all the work for them that would be routine traffic stops. Here we go with no privacy in your car as well. I can see if it is a accident reviewer or something.

hi newtalent as a pedistrian who has almost been hit a good many times in the cross walk with the green light in my favor by a driver who probably felt he too had mitigating circumstances like being late for whatever. now if running a red light is okay why even have pedistrian walk ways with the idea of walking when our light is green and yours red? My hought is nobody should run a red light.if you are late for a meeting try getting up earlier, if you need medical help immediately use cell phone and call for help, dont run a red light and smack down some innocent person who had the green light to walk.

They have had this implemented in New York for awhile now. In New Mexico they have it and they are trying to do away with them. My brother just got a ticket in the mail. There are three pictures attached. One shows that he is stopped at the red light. Another picture shows no car standing there and the last picture shows his license plate number. I know my brother he will fight it. He says he was in a turning lane. The State of Florida from what my parents say is the worst state to live in. They tax you left and right and now they want to add these cameras. You would think since the majority of residents are senior citizens that they would have less taxes and better living standards for the seniors. Something is definitely wrong with this picture.
